The job itself was straightforward. I clearly explained to the worker who completed the job the day before that the rivets needed to be drilled out, not grinded off. I even offered to provide the exact drill bit sizes to make the process easier and ensure it was done correctly. Despite that, he chose to grind the rivets instead and admitted that after grinding and using for one of the holes, the drill "slipped" and took out a huge chunk of material from the hole, making it unusable. As a result, a significant amount of material was removed from both the top and bottom of the flywheel where the OEM reinforcement plate was mounted. This damage now requires me to replace the flywheel entirely. I will say that Andrew Flores (sales manager) and the front desk staff were respectful, helpful, and professional throughout the situation. I appreciate their effort to communicate and assist. However, when I spoke with Andrew again (after I said I would wait for the owner to arrive), the response from the owner through Andrew was disappointing. I requested compensation for the damage so I could purchase a replacement flywheel, but the owner refused, stating that “the job was technically completed” based on the work order. That response made me question how much the shop values workmanship and accountability (especially from the owner). While I was refunded the $120 labor charge (one hour), that does not address the cost of replacing the damaged flywheel. I told them I can get one for $400 and would appreciate it if that would be paid for by the shop (owner). Overall, this was an unfortunate experience. I came here based on a recommendation from another local shop, but I regret that decision given how the situation was handled. I would have paid for an extra hour of labor just to get the job done more carefully. Lesson learned, if I want something done right, I'll do it myself. If I mess it up, I can't blame anyone else but myself. ****************************************************************** I appreciate the response, but I do need to correct several inaccuracies. At no point was I informed that this job was “too difficult” to perform without causing damage. Had that been clearly communicated, I would not have approved the work to proceed as it was done. Instead, the technician chose to grind the rivets off. As was admitted to me by the tech himself, the drill then slipped and removed a significant amount of material from the flywheel, making it unusable. This was not “minor damage.” The structural mounting area for the reinforcement plate was compromised on both sides, which is why the flywheel had to be replaced entirely. It wasn't just that one mounting hole that was compromised. The way the other rivets were grinded off compromised the mating surface also. To further clarify, I have since completed the same process myself on a replacement flywheel without mechanical experience and was able to remove the rivets with only minimal, controlled impact to the surrounding material. I'll post photos of that. I also want to address the claim that dual mass flywheels are not meant to be disassembled. While they are not typically “rebuilt,” removing a riveted plate is a common and straightforward machining process when done correctly. The issue here was not the design of the part; it was the method used by the tech after being explained how NOT to do it. I do appreciate that the labor charge was refunded, and I’ve acknowledged the professionalism of your front staff. However, the cost of the damaged flywheel (caused by improper workmanship) remains unaddressed.

My low tire pressure light came on and I pulled in (this is not a tire place) and spoke to the first person I saw, I didn't get his name but he immediately stopped what he was doing and made sure all my tires were filled properly. No charge and wouldn't even let me tip him. Great place!
