Nogalitos Gear Transmission Service Co.

Last month I took in a 3 speed manual transmission and transfer case out of my customers 1978 Jeep CJ5 I am fully restoring from the ground up. Roy told me he would tear apart the transfer case and transmission to give me a quote what it would take to rebuild correctly. 2-3 days later and I get a call.. he gave me a list of parts for transmission and transfercase that need to be replaced and it would run $2,400 to repair the transmission and transfer case. I told my customer . My customer was excited to get it started. A week later I get a call that the transmission and transfer case were finished and ready for pickup . I told Roy the owner give me a couple days and I'll swing by with the customers credit card and he will pay for it. Since I live over 1 and a half hrs away , it took me 3 days before I could make it. Roy calls and asks if I can pick it up and pay for the work. I apologized and said I would be there the following day. I called 2 hrs before I showed up telling him I was on my way. I showed up and the bell housing was off the transmission and missing bolts and had grease handprints all over it. . I asked why it wasn't together and he told me to pay and his employee would put it on .. used customers credit card to pay and walked back into the shop to find thee bellhousing on with wrong bolts. Bolts with nuts and mismatching hardware. The bell housing had rattle can spray all over the dirty bellhousing you could even see spider webs with paint and dirt with paint over it. The black transmission had gray over spray on it and the worker dumped an entire box over full of nuts and bolts to put on mismatching ones and cracked the bellhousing. Next day I took it to Nogalitos GEAR COMPANY. THEY TOOK IT APART AND FOUND THAT ROY RIPPED MY CUSTOMER OFF AND JUST POLISHED THINGS , PUT NEW GASKETS AND A OUTPUT SHAFT.... NONE OF THE TICKET THAT HE PAID FOR WAS ACTUALLY DONE! LUCKILY MY CUSTOMER HAS DISPUTED THE CHARGE WITH HIS CREDIT CARD COMPANY BECAUSE ROY LIED ABOUT THE WORK BEING DONE AND DIDNT DO A DAMN THING BUT PUT LIPSTICK ON THE PIG AND NEW SEALS I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! BEWARE He has lost my business of 9 more vehicles

BEWARE!!!!! WORST REPAIR SHOP!!! Got the transmission to my son's car repaired at his place back in May 2021. Needless to say 5 months later the transmission breaks. As a female not knowing what to look for on the warranty I noticed he put 3 months or 4000 miles. This vehicle is used about 3 times a month for short distance. I then noticed he did not put the mileage down. So now I'm past the time but the miles had not been meet as we took a picture the day we picked up the car. We took the vehicle back and he won't honor the warranty and is looking to charge us another 1400.00. Look for someone trustworthy this is not the place. They put a temporary fix just to have me coming back and dish out more money. PLUS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF THE OWNER HE GIVES YOU THE RUN AROUND! UPDATE: Took the vehicle to another mechanic and nogalitos put on used parts on my vehicle and I paid for brand new parts. 1400.00 for used parts and no warranty. BEWARE! You don't want to end up like we did. Regret ever taking my vehicle there.

Thought the place was well equipped boy was I wrong first they rebuilt my transmission they used the wrong parts had to rebuild it again. second they forgot to hook up my battery #2 on a bridged 12v system killing 2 batteries third they broke a bolt and left another out to my 4x4 driveshaft fourth they were supposed to rebuild my front differential and instead did the rear and after all that tried to pretend like the incorrect differential was my fault for not communicating... also after I posted this I went to pick up my truck and they didn't even put my calipers all the way on bolts were half on very dangerous and the truck smelt like cigarettes and I don't smoke and my quarter tank of gas was empty they had no reason to test drive it as they hadn't done anything and that's over 150 miles of fuel two peoples phones were linked to my Bluetooth and they were obviously joyriding my truck as the exhaust had broken hangers! So if you want your vehicle broken and abused take it here!

Had a 700r4 “rebuilt” by this shop in 2nd week of May ‘25 for $2400. It lasted less than 1800 miles. On 6/3/25 it was confirmed to me by another shop, that Nogalitos installed used, worn, and rusted parts in the “rebuild” of this transmission. Those parts were discovered by the current shop in the tear down of the transmission. As another patron mentioned, a full tank of gas had disappeared from my truck while in Nogalitos’ possession. It took 4 visits to this shop to stop a transmission leak after the “rebuild”. My better judgment was telling me I went to the wrong shop, and I didn’t listen. Hopefully your encounter will be better than mine. Photos soon to come from job Nogalitos performed.

I recommended a customer to this place. They charged the customer $2800 to rebuild his transmission. They gave us a torque converter with no thread to be able to bolt it up to the flywheel. Spoke to the management. They told me to drop it off. Go back in an hour so they could order another one. I asked them if they could. Please order the Torch converter before my driver goes. to drop it off. not waste an hour and a 1/2 Going back-and-forth doesn't make sense. said he couldn't do that, I told him, I would never recommend anybody ever again to this location. They are rude and they don't treat anybody right, but they love to take the money.
