BEXAR AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR

This is a review way overdue! It will be a long review but it is because this is how this establishment went far and beyond! I took in a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado that was gifted to me by my late father who passed away from lung cancer. Needless to say the vehicle needed a lot of work. I gifted the vehicle to my cousin who moved out of San Francisco into 29 palms California, in the middle of the desert. He had just lost his partner and need a working truck for his new location in the desert. Nobody believed that this 1996 Chevrolet would make it from Texas to California. But with Devon and his father Mr Luna's guidance we knew we were in good hands. Not only did they give us a fair price compared to other shops that I had gotten quotes from. But we needed the vehicle as soon as possible. My cousin flew in from California and was on a tight schedule. We needed to get moving. Bexar Automotive Repair crew deck was all hands on. Brand new tires, a full overhaul on the alignment, motor and transmission oil replaced, heater and air conditioner restored, tune-up, engine checked, everything about the mechanics was double-checked ....with a final inspection. I witness Masters at their craft!!!!! This became very emotional for me it was more than my heart can handle.🥹 When the truck was returned to me I cried out of joy....and was also logging for my father. Not only was the truck mechanically restored but the interior had been detailed! It was more than I had asked for. Bet!!!! This was about to become a trip of a lifetime. We set out of San Antonio, Texas. Drove into New Mexico taking the back roads in order to take in the states that we were about to encounter. Stopped in New Mexico and watched the bats fly out of natural caverns. Next morning driving through Arizona embracing the beauty of the state. When we encountered a MONSOON. 😳 The Silverado Chevrolet was a beast it did not waver. I was fearful ....but for we were definitely prepared because of the team of Bexar Automotive..... It was extraordinary it was life-changing for me! On the left side was a colorful sky with the sun coming down and on the right was the MONSOON breathing it's AIR up against the truck...the rain began... and because the truck's alignment was strong we persevere!💪 The next day we took on the Grand Canyon. We didn't just drive through it we Glided! It was like being behind a wheel and feeling that you were flying gracefully. Oh it was a beauty 🤩 After that we enjoyed a couple of days in Las Vegas, gambled a little, drink a little and rejoice for the Silverado Chevrolet had conquered!👏👏👏 We finished our journey through route 66 and in to California where we landed and surpassed our final destination from 29 palms California, into Joshua tree where we commemorate imy late father and this extraordinary team Bexar Automotive Repair shop. They put their heart into it and it was felt. I am forever thankful to them for helping me honor my father through his 1996 Chevrolet Silverado. As I write this I cry with tears of gratitude. 🥹💛 From my cousin Miguel and I....Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!🙏

Purchased a truck and took it to bexar automotive repair to fix the head gasket. They told me there is a 50 50 chance a blue devil sealer would work. I went to pick up the truck and they told me they changed some hoses and spark plugs also. What I thought was going to be a $60 sealant added to the radiator ended up being $1000. They told me the truck was overheating and it didn't work. I left with no antifreeze and a broken thermostat. They also used my truck to go to the junk yard and scratched my tailgate. Owner is nice but the mechanic he has gets a two thumbs down.

Honestly was not gonna leave a bad review but just seeing my truck they worked on is rotting outside and 4600$ down the drain and only used the truck 3 times around the block just made me realized that I got to learn a valuable lesson to watch out for shops like these and wouldn’t wish to other people what I experienced ,honestly could’ve sued but I’m not that type of person to do that .brought my truck to this shop on October of 2025 and told the owner that the truck is not turning on and it might be overheating and the engine was rebuilt ,calls me a day later and says engine needs a lot of work and that the engine was not rebuilt at all and changed my torque converter and quoted me 4k for basically just new seals and top end rebuild ,honestly sounded way to expensive and I can basically rebuild the whole thing cheaper somewhere else but In my mind I said I trust these guys and I just want my dream truck to be running and he said 1 year warranty ,calls me that is ready and when I pick it up truck runs like shit and sounds like shit ,looked at my valve covers and top manifold bolts and header bolts and they are all loose,my truck had a comp cam and replaced it with a regular one and owner stated I didn’t which was bs cause you can clearly hear it ,my dad had asked for the parts back which we where more interested in the cam but he said he exchanged it as core for the other one which is total bs cause no autopart store take camshafts as core ,paid the guy cause atleast the truck was running and as soon as I drove it home ,the truck started knocking and overheat ,called him immediately and they took my truck back and he said I never told him it would overheat.I told him I did and he kept denying and denying but he said he will check it out they “fixed”things without letting me know or for my approval , second time I go pick it up I test drive it and the truck would not pass first gear ,I confronted the owner cause they worked on the trans to put the torque and he kept implying that the trans is not the right one for the truck even though it’s been running fine this whole time ,600$ later to fix the trucks trans I pick it up the third time and test drive it the engine started knocking again and says that it’s the carb and that the carb is not in the warranty ,I told him that the carb is new and it is new and he said he’ll check it out ,4th time my parents picked my truck up and they brought it home and they noticed a huge dent and scratches on the side and truck still sounded like shit ,went back to confront him the 5th time that please just fix the paint and forget about the engine I don’t want you guys working on it anymore ,he says that they didn’t do that and that the truck was already like that ,the cops where called and he finally said that he would fix it with one of his friends and that he will pay for it and he gave me a letter that he would fix the paint and the truck and for that I was surprised,picked it up the 6 th time and they had fixed the paint but there was other new dents and dings and I was just frustrated and didn’t want to get into it anymore ,anyway took the truck home and finally truck sounds good and noticed gas leaking from the supposed new gas hoses they installed and upon inspection the whole line was dry rotted and that made me wonder if they even rebuild anything , I didn’t trust the truck to drive around the city yet and would just turn it on ,on the weekend,3 weeks later I checked the oil out of curiosity and the oil was chocolate milk and the truck was never like that ,I’ve had it with that shop and dont want no more work done with them and till this day truck is still sitting at the same spot and im 23 years old and to save up 5k especially in this economy and to get done like that is not fair ,thank you for seeing my story and keep in mind they had My truck for over 2 months I can’t believe they can’t fix a simple big block Chevy and if you go to this shop think twice about it .thank you

I’ve taken my truck to this shop a few times now and always had a good experience. Nep runs the shop and his son does the work. They are honest, fair, and I never feel like I’m being taken advantage of. The owner himself has an easygoing vibe that makes you feel like you’ve known him for years. Honest work, fair prices and good people.

Excellent service ! Professional, fast, and friendly. It’s hard to find a shop this reliable these days. 5 stars!
