Mansfield Gas & Exhaust

This was insane! I filled up with half a tank of gas before going to get an inspection here. I still had just BARELY under half a tank of gas (from the drive there) when I got to this place. I waited like 30 min or so and then went and got in my car to leave after I passed the inspection. I turned my car on and I had NO GAS!! Completely out!! Under E! Light on!! I looked and none had leaked on the concrete. I went and asked about it and they said they don’t check gas for inspections so I asked why it was like that and they said they did not know and smirked. They mentioned maybe my odometer and I got it checked and it was not my odometer! They gave me some gas(which I think was bad gas btw) and it was maybe 3 inches of gas in a hand held gas tank. Then they just said to leave they can’t do anything. I barely made it to the gas station! I think they might have done this to someone else too who I saw come back 5-10 min after their inspection. Overall very angry and disappointed! There is no way they did not steal my gas! My tank is fine and so is my odometer, I had gas when I got there and not when I left. I even got an oil change and they saw nothing wrong!

My husband and daughter took her 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude here today to get her catalytic converter replaced. I called last week for a quote for parts and labor and was told $550. Today, they charged them $800. When I called to inquire about the difference in price, I was told it was because they couldn't "rebuild" her current one and had to order a new one. After talking with our mechanic, I was told he never had heard of a "rebuilt" catalytic converter. I feel transparency is key, they should tell their customers that it would start at $550 but could be more.

BE CAUTIOUS if you're getting a WELDING JOB DONE, I personally think the welders are not certified or experienced. Went in June 11th, my muffler had become loose and possibly my catalyst needed to be changed. I was told only the muffler would need to be welded for $250 and the catalyst was ok I said perfect better for me instead of paying for the whole muffler to be replaced. I repeatedly asked them so is it good, and they reassured me it will hold up for another while, I truly believed them. I was relieved because we had a family summer road trip planned to California and I wanted to make sure the car was in a good condition for the trip. July 8th we got to our destination and July 9th the car started having the same issue the muffler had come undone again and worse! We took is a highly experienced mechanic and told us the welding done was not good and whoever did must of not been experienced. We were happy the muffler broke down after we arrived to our destination versus in the dessert with my 9mo twins, 2 year old and older kids. We paid $450 out there to get it fixed again and properly. When I came back into town I went to ask for a refund because the labor I was guaranteed was not good. Instead of fairly giving me my money back the woman told me they had no warranty on their labor only on parts I told her "how do you not have warranty on your labor, you told me the car would be ok" she keep making alot of excuses to not refund me stating "it was the long drive" I told her that shouldn't be a reason and I came in less than a month ago, she also said I should of brought the car back to her as soon as it broke down I told her how I was in another state, she also said maybe it was I hadn't done a maintenance which I did before we left. But I stood my ground because I genuinely wanted to get my money back for a job that was not done well and PROMISED warranty. The older man was more understandable and told me to just bring the receipt and he would refund me but the wife still kept trying to argue the refund. I did eventually got my refund because I bought my receipt. I would recommend you keep your receipt and get note stating warranty for their labor, I only got a receipt . I just read Shelly will be taking them to court and Katarina Harrell also had a bad welding job. My advice to this business would be keep your word on your warranties and refund your customers if the job failed its the fair thing to do and fire that welder.
