Multistate Transmissions

I am posting this review only because Multistate solicited it. In November of 2023, I took my 1987 F150 4x4 to my mechanic for a transmission fluid service. The reason was because on first use of the day, my transmission was slow to engage DRIVE. It worked fine otherwise and was not slow for the rest of the day. We discussed the fact that, because the true mileage, and the transmission service history, of my truck was unknown, doing so was risky. I acknowledged the risk and we decided to proceed anyway. The outcome was not favorable and required a complete rebuild. I did not have the money to fix it immediately, and my mechanic agreed to let me keep my truck in the back of his lot while I figured it out. Unbeknownst to me, my wife conspired with my mechanic to get the transmission rebuilt as a Christmas present. When I called a few weeks later to tell him I was going to drag the truck home, he asked me to wait, as he had another idea he wanted to try. Imagine my surprise when my way asked me to help my adult daughter get some things from her car when she came over Christmas morning, and I went out to see her getting out of my truck. The transmission worked perfectly. It still FUNCTIONS perfectly, but developed a front seal leak last fall and leaves a substantial mark whenever it is parked. To be fair to Multistate, I did not take it back to them, but only because I was past the 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty that seems to be standard in the industry.

I wanna thank Vinny and all the other guys for helping me out get my 2011 Subaru Forester vrooming again. He had lots of patience with me after I called and cancelled the job after talking to my husband. Then I called back to asked them to do the work. I know that was really annoying but he was patient and re ordered the part and did all the work again that’s really awesome of them all. My husband and I thought for sure my transmission was out. Vinny assured me that it was not my transmission at all and that it was in fact a spark plug that fell out. He saved me thousands of dollars. Thank you Vinny for being such a cool guy and working with me through my Indecisive decisions!! My car is running much better and stronger because of you guys!!!!

Didn’t end up doing the service itself, took the car after diagnostics only. Fair part, there was no charge for the diagnostics and it was done fairly quick. Part I didn’t like, diagnostics came with the result: full rebuild or new transmission, both priced at $4,000-$5,000+. The car was 2006 Camry, so the car worth was way less than that! They said that transmission is beyond the point of repair. I ended up doing repair (replacement of two valves in the transmission) for around $1,000 at a different place, and it’s still running (this was about a year ago) with no trouble or warnings!

Took my car in for suspected transmission issues but after a thorough diagnostic there were none. I was very pleased with their steps to check it out and the explanation. They were courteous and the cost was perfect, no charge for it all.

Excellent customer service provided by Reuben, Vennie and the team at the Haltom City location of Multistate Transmission. They properly diagnosed the problem with my 2016 Traverse--the easy part. I thought the hard part would then be working with the warranty company to get the needed replacement covered. Multistate made this part easy for me, as well! They made it seem effortless to work with Assurant to get my claim submitted and quickly approved. Replacement done and back in my vehicle in a timely manner! Thank you, Multistate!
