I’ve been going to Torres Auto on Davis Street in Oak Cliff for years, but today was disappointing. They have a sign out front advertising a $40 alignment. When I brought in my older Jaguar—just a project car—the price jumped to $140. I questioned the difference, and the response was that it ‘starts’ at $40 and goes up based on the car. While I understand complexity, the price seemed excessive for a simple front alignment. I ended up going to another shop down the street, got the alignment done for $70 in 15 minutes, and had no issues. I’m disappointed that Torres, where I’ve previously been a loyal customer, felt out of line on pricing. I hope they reconsider their transparency so others don’t feel the same way. Consider other options unless you have an endless supply of money or like to be overcharged.

Was really disappointed today. Monday I took my old Corvette in for an alignment. They called and said it was ready. When I got there I was told they weren’t able to finish the alignment on the rear because they didn’t have the right parts( shims). I was charged $160.00. I then got on Amazon and ordered the correct shims. Yesterday I took the car back to them so the could finish the alignment. And gave them the package of shims. They kept the car overnight which was no big deal. When I went to pick up the car today I was charged $240.00. I thought it was 240 minus the 180 but it was another $240.00. I thought I could figure this out but no. Somehow they charged me $60.00 more than the original alignment after I purchased and provided them the tools (shims) so they could do the job. I was given a printout of the alignment which still showed 3 of 10 measurements still out of specifications. Even the front caster measurements were still out of specifications after the alignment. I have used Torres for years for inspections and have never had a problem. The girls in the office have always been very nice and have got me out of there as soon as possible. I will now be looking for another location for service. I was told the alignment was very close but after paying $420.00 for an alignment I think I deserve a little more than just close.
