I had a very bad experience with this car maintenance shop. I took my car there because the engine light was on. I asked them to first check the problem and tell me the repair cost. I clearly told them that if the repair price was too high, I would not fix the car there. They used their engine diagnostic device and then told me what was wrong with the car. The repair price they gave me was very high, so I decided not to do the repair. After that, they charged me $110 just to tell me what the issue was. They never explained before checking the car that I would have to pay $110 even if I decided not to repair it there. I felt cheated and misled. Please be careful before taking your car to this maintenance shop.

Jack was friendly, helpful, and professional. Service didnt take too long. Essential recommendations were spot on. Optional recommendations erred on the side of unnecessary. Parts costs were average. Labor cost higher than smaller mechanics, lower than Firestone. Overall I would recommend Pep Boys to people who dont want to look for a family run mechanic shop, but those have been cheaper and only recommend truly needed work from my experience.

Ok, it took 3 hours to get a diagnostic for my blinkers not working. Had to return another day to get it fixed. (I am in a work vehicle managed by a fleet) I asked the manager Antonio what the issue was and he said the pin connectors were not on right. Ok I waited 3.5 hours just to get them connected …. When I am getting checkout the employee mentions “the tire replacement is what took the longest.” I’m like I didn’t know I was getting tires replaced. Long story short, I was not made aware of many things. And waited long hours to get things replaced that I didn’t even go in for. Even if my employer paid for these repairs they still wasted my time. I would’ve appreciated some transparency. Not sure if they have to meet a quota per day but people will take advantage and that’s what it felt like. At the cost of my time.

My truck battery went out on me and I was able to get it to Pep Boys after a jump. They were great getting me in and putting a new one and sending me on my way. Almost felt like a Nascar pit stop!! Ha!! Seriously they were great. I highly recommend them!! Boom!!

I heard from some of my family members about a very bad experience with this car maintenance shop. They took their car there because the engine light was on. Before checking the car, they explained that they only wanted to know the issue and the repair cost, and if the repair price was too high, they would not fix the car there. The shop used a diagnostic device to check the engine light and then gave them a very expensive repair estimate. When my family members decided not to do the repair, the shop charged them $110 just for the diagnostic check. According to them, the shop never clearly explained beforehand that there would be a $110 charge even if they chose not to repair the car there. They felt misled and disappointed. Please be careful before using this maintenance shop.
