Breaking down on the side of the road is scary!! Being a woman alone with no knowledge of vehicles is terrifying!! Luckily I had Triple AAA , they came quickly and assessed the issue. I had limited time to decide where to tow my vehicle. After a few phone calls, I was referred to Tranco Transmissions. I worked with Ryan, a gentleman who listened to my concerns without judgment, despite my lack of automotive knowledge, Ryan made the process simple and reassuring. After examining my truck Ryan explained the issues with my vehicle and offered three options: ordering a part for immediate repair getting me back on the road, repairs that could be addressed in the near future (being kinder to my wallet) and minor issues that could be done at any time. Ryan provided a timeframe and kept me informed throughout the process. He explained everything in layman’s terms, ensuring I understood his recommendations. I appreciated his professionalism and kindness. If you have vehicle issues no matter what you know or don’t know about those issues, you can trust them. I highly recommend Tranco Transmissions!!

I took my minivan to these people to have the transmission fluid flushed and filter replaced and specifically told them that the fluid was burnt and I needed the fluid flushed out of the torque converter and it was agreed that it would be done for 329.00. I got a call from them saying that my transmission was shot and needed to be rebuilt for a total of 4500.00 and change at which time I said no thanks just flush all the fluids and replace filter. After a couple hours they called me and said it was done so I go and pick up my van and go home and pulled out a quart of fluid from the transmission to add some treatment fluid and the fluid was still as burnt as it was when I took it in 360.00 is what they finally charged me. I called them back and ask why I was charged 360.00 and was told for 7 quarts of fluid and filter REALLY? I ask if they flushed the torque converter and was told “we don’t do that “ which it what we agreed on for the 329.00. These people shouldn’t be in business they are crooks. Stay as far away from this place as you can! Auto zone sells a new reman transmission for my van for 1779.99 with a 3 year warranty, not that I need one but it’s good to know. Now I have to spend more money to someone else to actually do the job that these crooks charged me 360.00 for and have the transmission and torque converter flushed out. Btw I had already known the fluid was burnt and there would be some shavings in the pan due to the burnt fluid, that the reason for the flush but these crooks went way out there telling me that my transmission was shot which it’s NOT. We were told by several mechanics, including ones at the dealership, that we needed to replace our transmission, so we were looking for a shop that would buy and install a remanned one (new is unavailable now) and asking for estimates. I chose Tranco Transmissions to repair/rebuild my trucks transmission based on a couple of factors. One being that they are locally owned and because of their one year or 50,000 mile warranty on the work they do. After getting my truck back in just a couple of days from dropping it off to have them perform the job that we agreed on, it ran fine and I had no problems out of it. This truck was my work truck and I rarely ever had to use it except for hauling items to and from the job sites. On the 12 month after receiving my truck back it started having problems with shifting into the upper gears again. Checking to see how many miles I had put on it since the repair I noticed that I had drove it less than 2,000 miles. I took it back to Rick at Tranco and he agreed that something wasn’t right and that he would make it right even though I had just went over the one year limit with the warranty. It has now been sitting in the parking lot at Tranco for six months and has yet been touched or even looked at. Every time I go in to check on it I get the same response that I will be next to be pulled into the garage. Six months is way too long for anyone to have to wait for any type of repair. Specially if it’s a warranty job. I can’t speak on the quality of work performed by Tranco because so far they haven’t done anything but cost me one and a half years of loss time with my truck and over $2,000. I would seriously consider taking your vehicle somewhere else that has a better price and history of honoring their work/word. I have a great truck now for sale if anyone wants a good deal and knows someone that can truly repair the transmission. After posting this review I was informed by Tranco of the problem that had caused for my truck not to be fixed. It was due to a manager, that was recently “let go”, putting my work order to the bottom of the agenda every day. Rick, the owner, once he was notified of the full details insisted that my truck be put into a bay and fixed ASAP. Today I am picking up my truck fully repaired at no cost. I have not yet driven the truck so I can’t respond on if it 100% fixed or not but I want everyone know that once Rick was informed of my situation or this post, my truck was fixed. I may have to come back to this post and change my rating to a higher one if it is truly repaired.

After reading most of the reviews, I thought this was an honest and trustworthy business to take my transmission to to be worked on. However, My experience with Tranco had to have been the worst experience Ive had with a business period. I took my working trans to tranco on April 4th of 2023, and then received it back May 15th 2023 after paying over $500. The job was only supposed to take 2 weeks but it took them over a month. And when I got home the transmission wouldn't shift correctly. I brought it back the next day and they were willing to make it right. Just today (July 26th, 2023) I was informed that the work could not be done. I went and picked up the transmission in pieces(see pictures) just under 4 months after I dropped it off of a 2 week job. After talking to Rick the owner he would not issue a refund for a job that him and his people preformed incorrectly the first time and could not perform at all. Complete tyranny from the owner and a completely lack of accountability from this business. In my experience I would not recommend this shop for anything you need done quickly or done right. The builder is the only person there who will give you straight and honest answers, he is the only thing good about that shop. All in all, they destroyed my $1000 transmission and charged me $500 for it.
