The worst year overall is 2021: 561 total complaint occurrences, six tagged safety-severity, led by steering wander and instability (177 occurrences) and engine stall or loss of power (158) — meaning steering and drivetrain problems were roughly equally prominent that year, with death wobble adding another 125 occurrences on top. By 2022, volume eased to 210, though death wobble, steering shake, and a battery failure complaint tagged safety-severity all remained in the top five, alongside a complaint specifically about recall-related repairs leaving the vehicle inoperable.
No recall campaigns are attached to any of these five model years in the data reviewed, which is notable given how much steering-related trouble owners reported — it's worth confirming directly with a dealer whether any service bulletins or unlisted remedies exist. Since 2021 stands out as the heaviest year on both counts, that's the one to inspect most carefully, with particular attention to steering feel at speed and instrument cluster function; as always, these are owner-filed reports rather than a lab-verified defect rate, and service history should weigh at least as heavily as the model year.
