Between 2015 and 2020, Ford F-250 SuperCab owners filed complaints that read remarkably alike: the front end shakes, sometimes violently, at highway speed. The two years to scrutinize hardest are 2019 (937 reported occurrences) and 2017 (914). In 2019, suspension malfunction causing severe vibrations (373 reports), steering wheel shaking with loss of control (298), and uncontrollable suspension shaking (218) make up nearly the whole file. 2017's version is uncontrollable shaking on curves (375), steering wheel jerking at high speeds (303), and death wobble at highway speeds (193). 2018 continues the theme at 378 occurrences with five safety-severity problems, and 2015 and 2016 are smaller-scale echoes — death wobble is the top complaint in both.

Little else breaks through. There are scattered reports of back-over prevention malfunctions in 2018, airbag recall non-compliance complaints in 2016, and backup camera issues in 2019, all in single or low double digits.

Then 2020 changes subject entirely. Its 92 occurrences — a tenth of the 2019 volume — are led by transmission jerking and hard shifting (23), engine misfire and stalling (14), and high-pressure fuel pump failure (11). The steering complaints that remain are fewer but sobering: 11 reports of steering system failures including steering wheel separation.

For any 2015–2019 truck, a sustained highway test drive and a front-end inspection are non-negotiable; ask specifically whether steering dampers or related components have been replaced. For 2020, focus on shift quality and fuel system history. And remember what these numbers are: complaints owners filed with NHTSA, not measured failure rates. Newer years have had less road time to accumulate reports, and the condition of the specific truck — verified by a pre-purchase inspection and service records — outweighs the model year every time.
