Then comes 2021, the second-heaviest year at 235 occurrences: fuel pump control module failure (37), engine misfire and knocking (29), transmission-related power loss (29), and engine lifter failure (20), with recalls 21V064, 21V210, 21V455, 21V739, 24V797, 25V274, and 25V619 attached. The 2023 is smaller in volume (124) but carries seven safety-severity problems — the most of any year here — led by engine stalling during operation, transmission failure, and engine overheating, with recalls 24V674 and 25V274 on record. The 2022 sits between, with electrical failures and engine stalls at the top of its list.
For any Tahoe, verify recall completion by VIN, pay attention to brake feel on mid-decade examples, and listen for misfires, knocking, or stalling on 2021–2023 ones. And remember what these counts are: owner filings, not measured failure rates. Newer years have had less time to accumulate reports, and a pre-purchase inspection backed by a documented service history beats model-year math every time.
