Terrible terrible company. They rebrand and call themselves Kalon Auto Center. I wanted to get my car out of there after wheels were stolen, and they were bad to communicate with. Wouldn’t let my car go without paying fees and when I asked what the fees were he said he doesn’t know. Never deal with them and listen to all these reviews and on yelp. Stay. Away.

CRASH CHASERS AND SCAMMERS. Upper Darby police are aware of them … when I called the police I didn’t even have to say the place, they guessed exactly the business I was calling about. The police said “they will hold your car as long as possible to get more money from your insurance.” I made a report but unfortunately police couldn’t do much because it’s technically a “civil matter.” When I was involved in an accident last month, a tow driver from Modern Auto showed up and I let them take my car (horrible mistake but I wasn’t aware there are common scams associated with this practice). Over the next few days they proceeded to continually reassure me that they would “work with my insurance” and that I won’t have to pay a dime, refusing to give me the list of charges to get my own car released. After 2 days of not answering the phone from my insurance adjuster or my body shop (my adjuster called over 10 times), I went in person with my adjuster on the phone to work everything out. During the conversation my adjuster (a woman) was very firm and assertive because it has been several days of no communication, and the associate at modern out my phone on mute and said “why is she being so difficult?” Among other unprofessional remarks. During this conversation he also continued refusing to give me the price of getting my car out stating it’s “against policy” to give that info to customers. When my adjuster sent me the pricing, after 4 days it was $3500 The next day a tow driver from my insurance showed up to get my car out, and modern said they couldn’t release my car because they don’t release cars after 11:30am. Which, by the way, was not mentioned during any previous conversations. 6 days post-crash we finally got my car out … but my key didn’t make it to the body shop. When I went back to modern to get my key, it was mixed in - unlabeled - with about 20 other unlabeled keys. No way of telling if it was my key. Lessons learned: 1. Do not let random tow companies that show up to your accident take your car (a lawyer later told me sometimes this is how cars are stolen) 2. BE ASSERTIVE and take things into your own hands. No one will fight for your property harder than you.

Don't take your car here or agree to have it towed there place is a scam they charge my insurance 3600 for keeping my car there for 5 days until my insurance paid to get it out place is a scam

I had my car towed here after someone hit my car while my son was parked on a street, from the tow truck driver who my kid said was very very nice, {to get a compliment from him is a huge deal} Shout out to Jason G., TY!to the people in the office, they were so nice and I felt like they actually heard what I was saying, they handled the entire incident very well. Now it took my INS Co over 2 weeks to provide them with a check, so the length of not having my car killed me but it was no one's fault except the INS CO. When I got the car back, I heard something weird and I was oh God here we go, because in the back of my mind I'm thinking I just read all these reviews, well they fixed it immediately. I think the paint could have had a 2nd coat in 2 tiny areas, which I'm 100% sure they will touch up for me or I will be revising my review. Lol I'm just so grateful to have my car back, thank all of you.

Absolute terrible company. Will try to rip off your insurance and keep your vehicle if you don’t pay their exuberant fees. Watch out for their tow trucks. Very misleading
