Hands down the BEST experience I could've had with the tough situation of my transmission failing. If you need a new/rebuilt transmission look no further. The transmission on my F150 just recently went and I did some extensive 'shopping around' for a shop that offered the best deal, warranty, yet were knowledgeable about transmissions at the same time and my decision from my findings was clear that I needed to use Nelson's Transmissions. From the beginning Mr. Nelson was incredibly knowledgeable about the complexity of my transmission and the potential fail points that caused the issue in the first place. I was impressed with this because my transmission is a newer one on the market (Ford/Chevy 10 speed) and many other shops either wanted an astronomical amount to do the job or said "We don't know how to do this one other than replace it entirely." Mr. Nelsons knowledge coupled with the generous warranty made the decision easy for me. While my truck was in the shop Mr. Nelson was VERY good about communicating with me each and every step of the process and their findings. Once my transmission was rebuilt Mr. Nelson took it for a test drive and noticed a very minor inconsistency with the shift. Most shops at this point would have collected the paycheck and given the truck back. Not Nelson's. Mr. Nelson then took the pan back off and did a further inspection for the root cause of the issue. He found an electrical issue that caused the mechanical issue of my transmission failing. In time the rebuilt transmission would've failed again if it was not for this find and correction. Now that I have my truck back, it shifts smoother than it did when I bought it off the lot! It's never good news to hear that you need a new/rebuilt transmission. But if you do, you will not find better customer service or a more knowledgeable team than you will at Nelson's. I 11 out of 10 would recommend Nelson's Transmissions to anyone in the situation.

The owner Don spent 20 minutes on the phone with me discussing all my options before he even asked if I wanted to make an appt. His recommendations and advice helped me make the right decision. He talked to me not down to me and as a woman that is so important. Would highly recommend.

Mr. Nelson has been great to work with I took my van in for the transmission to be rebuilt. The dealer quoted $6400 after the initial diagnosis but Mr Nelson quoted a few thousand less with a great warranty attached to the work. He wasn't the lowest bid of 3 but after talking on the phone and meeting him the choice was clear.. being a father I needed the van and he had the work done in a week, he even came in on Thanksgiving to allow me to pick up the car. Mr. Nelson is very reasonable, honest, and knowledgeable! I had a unique situation, and him and his team took it on with ease and were quick to let me know along the way if anything had changed related to labor and costs. It's hard to find a good honest mechanic anymore. Will be going back for his services anytime they are needed, and would recommend him to anyone!

Took my car here for a transmission replacement. Car was returned after a month, then replacement trans he put in went on me. Returned the car for him to fix because my warranty was still active. I live right down the road and noticed he didn’t touch my car for over a month. Turns out in that time, mice got into my car and chewed up wires and made nests. He replaced the wires. After 3 months they finally returned my car to me, but not after basically admitting to me that my car was nearly the cause of him wanting to give up mechanics and closing his shop for good! It’s been 3 months since picking my car up and the transmission just went on me again. Never use this shop for service on your vehicle! Save yourself!
