We tried Jeff's Auto Repair for the first time here. Our experience was not what we hoped. We provided the parts for 4 new hubs on my daughters Subaru. Two of the hubs we provided were not correct even though they showed up for the year model and make we entered on Rock Auto. Apparently there are two different hubs for her year car. Our fault, for sure. We ordered the correct ones and overnighted them directly to the shop. We thought that considering the circumstances they would have taken it a little easer on us to do the fronts a second time, but instead we were charged full labor rate for what it took to put the correct ones on. We believe in the future the parts should be checked to make sure they were correct before installing them. As a "professional" shop you should take the 2 mins to verify that what you are installing is correct. Instead, we were charged full hourly rate for install twice. Then they tried to say they charged us less the second time, yes, it does take a LOT less time to pull off brand new hubs, obviously. For those that do not know, in some cases removing old hubs takes a lot more time then pulling wheel, rods, etc, and reinstalling. But we were still charged full hourly rate and for all work performed even though zero due diligence was done to verify that the parts installed were correct first. If they would have even charged us just half rate on the second install (meet us in the middle, ya know) they could have earned a new customer that has 5 vehicles between work and family at our address. Instead, the decision was made to make full hourly rate twice regardless of the situation. As a business owner myself, I look at every situation and decide what is fair. When we picked up there was no other work going on, perhaps put time into making the few customers you have happy and earn more business for the long run, just an idea for future. Side note, I did not appreciate being yelled at that "it was your fault." Yes, I am aware we ordered the wrong part even though year model make and all was correct. I was only hoping that it was all taken into consideration since we were now paying way more (twice) for a job, that's all. Also, we were charged almost $35 (like 4%) to pay with a credit card on top of it all. We were unaware there would be extra charges to pay that way, or we would have paid check.
