This was my 2nd time at C&J Auto shop. It was amazing experience overall. They did Oil change and state inspection at correct price with no hassle like other places. Friendly people. They explained what they observe and answer all my question. Very happy. Would recommend everyone to try one time.

View on GooglePredatory "free inspection" practices here. Came in for an oil change, was "recommended" various fluid flushes along with some other items. Was provided an image of the fluids, no test results of any kind. I tested the coolant, which was perfectly fine. The brake fluid, which they also recommended a flush for, had been flushed 2 years prior. Just to be safe I tested the brake fluid too, which of course was perfectly fine. Only information provided with their recommendations is an image of the fluids (if at all) which all appeared perfectly fine. Unclear what analysis was actually done on these fluids to determine they should be replaced, but as far as I can tell its purely based off mileage of the car. I am updating this post with their provided image of my fluids that they said needed to be flushed. As a general note, if your shop is recommending fluid flushes based on visual inspection and mileage, find a new shop. Its cheap and very simple to test the efficacy of these fluids. One has to wonder why any reputable shop can't take these basic steps before recommending services to their customers. Update: The shop says that services were recommended because they "weren't on CARFAX", so here is my CARFAX report for my brake fluid flush from just under 2 years prior. I have to again repeat how trivial it is to test the fluids in question. When a shop "recommends" a service, the assumption is that the shop thinks you actually need it. Personally, I will opt for a shop that does their due diligence, versus depending on service interval mileage and CARFAX, to determine whether a customer's vehicle needs something. Their process is designed to maximize recommendations, not accuracy. They pull CARFAX to identify services not on record, apply time/mileage intervals across the board, and use a subjective color card as cover for "condition-based" findings. Nothing in their process is designed to tell them a service isn't needed.
