Spoke with Mary Jo on the phone about how I needed certain things for my car and was going to get a loan so I needed to know the cost of the parts and labor so that I had the money, she told me $950 and some change so I got a loan for $1000. I dropped my car off and then she told me I could pick it up the next morning, the following morning she called me about another issue and said it was $200 extra dollars and I reiterated I had gotten a loan and only had what she quoted me for and she said ok. Around 3:00pm she called me and said it would be $2200 and I told her that was not the price she told me and she said that the other location where my car was taken to had different prices so she couldn’t guarantee her quote over there. I told her that doesn’t make sense because obviously I gave my car to her and her location where the quote was told to me. She told me she would call them and figure it out and gave me the phone number and address to where my car was for me to also call to which they said that she told them to do all this extra work that I DID NOT ASK FOR OR AUTHORIZE. To which they told me they would call me back. I waited but got no word so at 4:30 I called Mary Joe back and asked what was going on and she said and I quote “Well you have to pay because I sent you the invoice in your email and if your email doesn’t work then that’s not my problem” and the call ended.. I show up to explain to the people who had my car what was going on and that they did things I hadn’t authorized and the guy said I was going to pay for what they did. I explained again that I had gotten a loan and did not have any other money and did not authorize any extra repairs. It wasn’t until I called the police that they decided to take everything off the car and give it back, which I was fine with because i would take it elsewhere that will do it for the price they quote me for and not try to rob me. They tried to tell me that I could come pick up my car the following day when they had already had it for 2 days and I told them no and I would not leave without my vehicle because I don’t trust them since they lied about pricing to which the man got in my face and said he would “DRAG ME OUT”. After almost an hour of arguing, aggression, back and forth between me and almost all the staff (shout out to Lou for being the only person to calmly express sympathy because obviously he knew they were scamming me and tried to help me very calmly) they finally agreed that they would take things off and match the quote I was originally given. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE OR TRUST THEM WITH MY CAR what they do over there is illegal, you can’t just do whatever you want on anyone’s car without authorization just for money and this will be reported to the Bureau of Consumer Protection.

Don't take ur car here unless u don't want it to run anymore!! We have taken our car here now several times, when they fired Bob is when we started noticing issues with them.. they are not fixing what needs fixed they basically fix only what u tell them u think is wrong, they don't even look at ur car!! Twice now they have given our car back without antifreeze in it!! They had to fix a issue with the hose witch in turn requires u to drain the antifreeze well they failed to fill it, and the 1st time we thought it was a accident, and we had to replace our radiator and than we needed a bottom hose and they had our car all day and didn't put no fluid in it and I honestly believe they did this on purpose to get service!! It's a lot to explain, but regardless I wouldn't take my car or truck to this place if someone paid me to go there!! Honestly Bob was great and we never had any issues with him!! Point is, if u don't like driving to work, or having that privilege of driving at all, DON'T TAKE UR VEHICLE TO CARNEGIE MOTORS on Chestnut St!!!

They used to have the best service manager in there. Now it is chaotic and over priced and the owners are mean people. Yeah I'll be taking business elsewhere.

Fast, friendly service. Fair prices. I realized our minivan was having problems Sunday evening. I called Carnegie Motors on Monday morning, they helped me arrange toeing and got everything diagnosed and resolved before 5 PM on Monday. What more could I ask for?

After a deer hit me a few weeks ago, I searched for a AAA shop and called Carnegie motors. They were able to get my car in quickly and repaired it within 1.5 weeks. Everyone in the shop was friendly and explained me to the costs and repairs needed. I got my car back and it looks amazing. They even detailed the inside and washed it which was honestly not expected but very much appreciated. I was kept in the loop all the way through and my car was completed on time. If a deer decides to jump in front of your car one day, Carnegie motors will take care of you! Thank you so much!
