Lupfer's Transmission Inc

Took my truck in to have the trans rebuilt and upgraded. It was there for 3 weeks. I call to see what's going on with it they tell me the trans is missing 2nd and 4th gear. That's why it was there to be rebuilt and upgraded. They told me they wont fix it. A transmission shop that wont fix a transmission and this is a stock transmission. Place is a joke anymore might have been a good place years ago but not anymore. I would stay away and find a better place like I am.

Asked for an idea on cost for an 05 neon transmission repair or replacement. Was told immediately no less than $5000. Without even letting me explain what was going on. My family has used lupfers for years. I am very disappointed.

Unfortunately, my father entrusted this shop with his company's vehicle. They had done work previously on one of his vehicles and never called with the estimate. They completed the work and then expected payment. Being the noble person my father is he still paid the bill but also asked kindly for them to simply inform him ahead of time next time he brings another vehicle. He paid them with a check. They decided to have an attitude about the situation and sent the check back saying they didn't want the money. My father asked for the amount in parts that they spent and sent another check but they refused his check as well. Being a fair man my father didn't think anything of it and simply figured they felt bad about the situation and didn't want to charge him for work he didn't authorize. Present day, my father drops off anther vehicle with them. He checks it in and awaits for the truck to get fixed. A few days go by and he hasn't heard anything. He calls and the owner says they're not doing business with him anymore because he doesn't pay his invoices. My father highly believes in paying what he owes and informed them of the situation. The owner then just simply said he didn't want to do business with him anymore. This comes after they held his truck for a few days and never communicated with him further. It's simply just unprofessional. Even if it is personal, as a business owner, that is not the proper way to handle a customer or a person. Communication could have been clear and he didn't have to waste my father's time and money. I have read a couple of other reviews and noticed that this shop has a history of holding on to a customer's vehicle for an unnecessary amount of time and not fixing the issue. Hope this review helps someone save some time and money.

These guys are the best! Just walking around their shop and you can undoubtedly know that they are the real deal. A father and son who have been in the transmission business for years. I had done business with them twice for two plumbing vans that had transmission problems. Both times the transmissions were rebuilt and fixed relatively fast, reasonably priced and done right the first time. Even though I live in Lancaster County it was worth having the vans towed to their shop. Thank you Scott and Mr. Lupfer, I really appreciate you getting me in and getting them fixed.
