Ted's Auto

Ted did a complete on-frame restoration and new paint on my 73 Z28 for under 20k. A coworker of mine had his Chevelle done by someone else...his costed 103k. Ted and his son Tad also tuned the engine and adjusted the 4 speed linkage for no extra cost. Angels!!!

I went here after a recommendation from a friend, and wasn't disappointed. I needed new brakes, and Tad took the time to know and explain it to me (being a first time car owner) and was kind, courteous and did great work. The price was also less than I expected, it's obvious they are an honest and great shop!!

I needed to find a dependable mechanic to work on my car. This company is great! Very fair in price, does not take advantage of people. I would recommend 100% definitely will be back.

Ted saved my move and my vacation. My doors were banged up and the handles both stopped working just one week from the day that I, my partner, and our 3 cats had to move out of our then-apartment. We wouldn't be able to move into the new one until a full week later, so we were staying at an inexpensive cabin that took cats. It would be impossible for us to manage our camping gear and cat carriers without opening our doors. Ted made time that same week, among lots of other jobs he had to complete, to hang and hook up my salvaged doors in a single afternoon - after my morning shift - so I could go drive work the next morning. The doors I had brought for him to install had some corroded, seized up hardware, so he cleaned and greased them back to working for me. The only salvage yard that had doors for my make and model were out by Irwin and I had to borrow a friend's SUV to pick them up. If I brought them home, I would have no way to bring them to Ted's shop, so he let me drop off my doors the day before he was able to hang them. Ted charged me a price that was very fair to me, especially on a rush job that ended up including some extra restoration. He was incredibly friendly and helpful in person, even if he was sort of distant on the phone (focused on his work!). I'm touched by how easy Ted made this for me, taking an impossible, desperate situation and providing a fast, affordable, and effective solution!

I brought my car here to have an aluminum steering rack bracket rewelded on after it had been broken off. I was called at 7:54AM and asked "what are we doing to this car again?". At 8:55AM I was called back and told "Its done, you can come pick it up". When I picked it up, I was charged for 3 hours labor. When I returned to ask about this, the father could not come up with an explanation, and said his son (who did the work) would call me back. The next day the son called me back and very rudely told me that he was so skilled that he did a 3 hour job in 1 hour. Because this job isn't in the labor guide, and they weren't able to quote me beforehand, it should be charged for time actually spent on the job, not whatever number they magically decided to come up with. I was overcharged by 2-3 times what the job should have been.
