Good Guys Garage

Was on a cross country road trip in a motorhome. Looked ahead at one of the towns near our route and found this gem. Good Guys Garage is a fantastic business. James is as honest a straight shooter as you will find. John, their lead technician is tenacious and very competent.

I had once made an outstanding 5 star review to this place. I came in for front and rear brakes/rotors which came to roughly 900 dollars,I was told everything was great now, I even explained that this was my 3rd set of rear brakes and rotors in 6 months. I live an hour away, on my way home my car started making unbelievable noises, grinding, sounding like things were literally falling off my car and I was terrified. I called the next day, held my phone out the window and asked what the hell was going on?!? I was told to bring it back in, which I did. I dropped off the car before 2 PM on Friday, spoke to a really nice guy whom I've dealt with before who apologized about my issue and said he'd get it taken care of. At 445 I called because I know they close at 5 and was told they were putting her back together and head back to pick it up, my phone rings back within a few minutes and I was told I needed calipers that I had a "stuck" caliper and this is the reason I've had 3 sets of rear brakes and rotors within 6 months and my car WAS NOT safe to drive, what? Yesterday my card was ran for almost 900 and it was "great" today I'm driving an unsafe vehicle. The owner of this shop is not at all a "good " guy he is the exact opposite, your car is unsafe to drive but I close in 23 minutes. So what does one do in this situation? He basically said that wasn't his problem and he had an appointment and he wasn't charging me for labor today, I had to come back because of something someone did wrong and why wasn't the frozen caliper caught yesterday? So please don't go here, take your money to people who care, who don't tell a woman who lives an hour away that her car is unsafe to drive and that there was nothing he could do because he had an appointment.

Called the shop and asked about getting oil pump replaced, tech stated they didn’t do that service. I received a call shortly later and was told that they definitely can do the service. I dropped my car off on Sunday after hours, nice having the key/overnight drop off. I had my car back in my possession in 2 days. Throughout the process I received calls with updates and received nothing but the best customer service!!! Will be back if anything is needed on my Jeep in the future.

Took my CRV in for alignment and they attempted to kill me. I got a call about some "other" work needed - quoted some bologna price - haggled, saying to tighten a part I'd not pay more than $100 more - get to the garage and the bill was $140 more than quoted (my fault for not getting it in writing) argument ensued - they threatened the police. Now I'm driving my CRV with audible metal smacking - the so called mechanic didn't reattach the boot. They wanted to kill me!! Avoid this garage at all costs.

James and his guys was great to deal with. Showed me a verity of tires and I choose the one I wanted could not be happier with them and the service. Did not try to push un needed sales. And had good conversation unlike most places trying to rush you out. Will definitely be back even just to visit you guys are great thanks again James fir time researching what I asked for n what we found. Frank Belcher
