I rarely post reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with MD Transmissions. My 2017 Traverse suddenly began lurching and showing what appeared to be classic transmission failure symptoms. However, there was one symptom that didn't make sense: every time the vehicle lurched, the door locks would repeatedly lock and unlock. I took the vehicle to two other shops before MD. One recommended a complete transmission replacement for roughly $7,500. By the time I brought it to MD, I had almost accepted that I was going to need a transmission. I explained the symptoms, including the lurching, the U0101 transmission communication code, and the strange door lock behavior. Instead of assuming the transmission needed replaced, they actually diagnosed the problem. Within two days, they found the root cause: a corroded wire connected to the Transmission Control Module. They repaired the damaged section of wiring, verified the repair, and had the vehicle ready to go. Total cost: under $300. I've now been driving the Traverse for over a week, including highway driving and hills, and it has been running perfectly normally. What impressed me most wasn't just the repair cost, it was that they took the time to find the actual problem instead of replacing parts based on assumptions.
