Freddy's Big Lot

Honestly I wouldn't even give 1 star but I think I have to put something. We bought a car for our son from Freddy. He acted like he was all about helping us find a great car for him. Literally I think my son drove it maybe three times and the electrical system went haywire. It was in two different mechanics shops. Ended up replacing a fuse that was missing🤔 and a ground wire. Had to replace the windshield wiper motor because they would not turn off. After a month or longer of being in a repair shop he gets it back and drives it for a few days and then the battery started smoking. So that was replaced along with cleaning and tightening the ground to the battery. Today (5/25/26) everything seemed to be good and my son calls me again and says the dash lights are out again, no turn signals and it won't shift over 1st gear. I am telling you NEVER in my life have I ever bought a vehicle that was this big of a problem. My husband contacted Freddy after we took it to the first mechanic and he told my husband it was bought as is but we could bring it to his shop for them to fix it because apparently the people that have worked on it don't know what they are doing...which is absolutely not the truth both places are top notch. We didn't take it to Freddy because we live an hour and a half away and the vehicle needed to be towed because it didn't run. The really stupid thing is when I called about the vehicle and talked to Freddy before we bought the car he had mentioned that used cars were really expensive now and that the car I was wanting to buy was actually $1000 vehicle but he sold it for $3000. But it was a great running car blah blah blah...I should have known by that comment to steer clear of that place. I'm mad at myself for trusting someone who obviously has no concern for anyone but himself .( He's a good talker ) We have put $1000 in the thing since we bought it. Out $4000 for what? A vehicle that should be in a dump. I honestly don't know how that man sleeps at night. It is sickening. Don't waste your time purchasing anything from that place, you will certainly regret it.

This company is a fraud and a scam. They are in it for the almighty dollar. I purchased a 2003 GMC Suburban from Freddy's Big Lot. The transmission went out on the vehicle two weeks after I made the purchase. I asked Fred for my money back after taking the car to a shop to estimate the repair cost. Fred told me I bought the car as is so that I couldn't get a refund. I waited for 4 weeks to talk to Fred to come to an agreement so I have had the car now for a little over two months. I have since than purchased another vehicle some place else because I need to get back and forth to work. Although Fred offered to trade in the vehicle or change the brake line, rotor, and all the minor issues I would rather not do business with him again, because of the stress I have had with this vehicle.

There is only one place in this world where I buy cars. This is the God's honest truth.Fred Reed and I have been doing business for 25 years+. I will go nowhere else. I love Fred like he is family. I can only give this place 5 stars but I'd love to give you 25 stars. Why do I choose Freddie's Big Lot? 'Cause Fred Hooks us up. Thanks again for a wonderful purchase experience, my friend

I have had my truck for about 3 months and have already spent close to $2k in repairs. They look nice on the outside but mechanically these vehicles are absolutely junk. Freddy seems like a good guy but these vehicles are terrible. Just have a deep wallet and some nice tools if you decide to buy a vehicle from there. I’ve but my tongue long enough as today is am replacing all exhaust pipes from muffler back due to it being scabbed together with crap welds for a quick sale. Worst decision I’ve made in a long time. Brakes all the way around, water pump, power steering pump, serpentine belt, exhaust. All of these needed replaced within 3 months of buying the truck. And make him show you under those fender flares if your buying a truck. Most likely hiding rust. My bed under those flares is all rotted out and the bed will need to be replaced also.

Purchased a 2001 Chevy S10 from Freddys big lot in June 2024. I called ahead of time to try and take a look at the truck within their hours of operation. Freddy explained that they were unable to show the car, as their lot had been flooded. While making the purchase he explained he had actually been at a horse race. The truck had been restored extremely poorly, and the frame split in two within 1,500 miles of it being in my name. Feel like I had been taken advantage of, as this was my very first car purchase. I now have a large paper weight sitting in front of my house. In my opinion avoid at all costs.
