AAA Car Care Plus: Columbus Northwest

Saw a promotion on the AAA Facebook page offering a Free Synthetic Oil Change and thought it was too good to be true. It is for real and all I had to pay for the extra oil needed over the 5 quarts included and the taxes and fees. They also did a full inspection and found that my battery was getting low and was still under warranty and they replaced that at no charge. They also pointed out a few other issues that needed attention soon. I recommend this location highly. Great customer service. Very friendly and attentive.

Do NOT take your car here. I had work done on my vehicle, and less than an hour after leaving the shop, it was suddenly no longer drivable and ended up being totaled. There is no reasonable explanation for how quickly things went wrong after their service. When I called the shop, they were defensive, dismissive, and completely unwilling to take any responsibility or even properly discuss the situation. What made this even worse was what I witnessed while waiting. Another customer was there complaining that they had kept her car for over a week. A technician came out and admitted he had made a mistake that caused further delays. During that conversation, he openly said he does work “cheaply” and that mistakes often happen, implying customers end up paying more later because of those mistakes. Hearing that directly from their staff was extremely concerning. Between my own experience and what I saw firsthand, this shop comes across as careless, unprofessional, and not trustworthy. I would strongly warn anyone against bringing their vehicle here unless you’re willing to risk more damage and higher costs in the long run.

Used to be very reliable and affordable. Now the prices are higher and they dont contact you when work is not completed when it was supposed to be. In the past I was always kept informed of progress. Something has changed at the bethel road shop. I think the repair was not even started until I called to get the progress

I always do my car maintenance and oil change at this AAA store. It is convenient to make an appointment by calling them. They are professional and the price is reasonable with membership and offers. It usually takes one hour to change the oil and check everything. There are free coffee and WiFi in the waiting area. It is always a good experience.

My son, a AAA member, brought his 2015 Honda Accord to this shop due to slow starting issues. After performing a diagnostic, they told him the alternator and air conditioning system needed work, among other things. He asked what was absolutely necessary to get the car safely back on the road and was advised to replace the alternator and serpentine belt. He agreed, and they completed the job—charging him $1,200 for parts and labor. Unfortunately, just two hours after bringing the car home, it wouldn’t start again. He had to have it towed back to the shop, where they quoted an additional $1,400 for more repairs. There was no apology, no explanation for why the issue wasn’t properly resolved the first time, and no offer of any accommodation or accountability. Extremely disappointed with the service. It felt like a waste of time and money. He ended up taking the car to another local mechanic, who fixed the issue for $600 less. Overall, the experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and poorly communicated.
