Called to have car inspected. I already knew what the problem was, but purposely didn’t say anything to see if the place would figure it out. The mechanic found it almost immediately. However, because of where the problem is, it would require the whole part to be replaced. He called his source only to find out it would be very costly to get it from them. So he went on his phone and found it for a lot cheaper online and suggested for me to get it online and to bring it in so he can install it. So not only has he proven to be reliable, but also trustworthy and actually care. If there’s a mechanic in the cohoes and Waterford area look no further than Mack automotive. Especially considering he not only inspected it for free but then brought me in the back and showed me. On top of the fact that not many mechanics are willing to let you just bring in the part yourself. Even if it means, it’s gonna cost you literally 10 times the price. Other places were even gonna charge me just for the inspection alone. Highly, highly and I can’t say this enough, I very highly recommend this place. I am getting the part online and will be having them install it. This place is like finding a needle in a haystack. Nice small garage did I drive past all the time and didn’t know about. I have no doubt they work and I say this from experience is going to match the content of their character. Too many times have I seen mechanics who are greedy and those are the same mechanics that will cut corners and not do the job correctly. But hey that’s ok thst just means you will bring the car in again am I right? Once the work is done I’ll update this review. But I have no doubt the work will be done properly.

Under the new owners, they have shown me what the problem is, estimated a cost before I authorize service and have fixed what the problem is with no surprises. They try to give you the best price possible and even if it takes longer than they quote, they will not overcharge.

Here at mack they take care of what needs to be done , great attention to detail . friendly and smart people that offer great service at a great price . Ed and the owner helped me out and got me back on the road now will be going back for more repairs in the future .

This is not the original MACK Automotive. They are not the ones that earned the reviews here and more importantly the trust of community. Don’t be fooled. The mechanic that earned the real reviews moved down the street to Berdar Auto Service.
