Had rear brakes done including new calipers. 5 days later my wife was driving car and lost brakes when caliper fell off hub and piston came out of caliper. This was an extremely dangerous situation and we are lucky this happened at low speed in a parking lot with no traffic. A bad situation was made worse when I was told that the caliper was "defective and leaking". The only way the caliper comes off is when bolts are not installed or not tightened. Instead of owning the mistake, Pepboys decided to lie to me. I have not received an apology or recognition of how serious this was. Someone could have been hurt or killed. I removed the wheels after to inspect and make sure the other caliper was installed correctly, but had to use a breaker bar with a cheater to get the lug nuts off. The nuts were over torqued so much that they were cutting into the aluminum wheel and created metal filings. Update: after following Pepboys response here to reach out to customer service, I did. I have yet to receive a response.

I have absolutely nothing positive to say. They cancelled my inspection appointment day of with no phone call, just an email I happened to see. I called and they told me they overbooked and only had one technician in. Rescheduled for the next week and it took TWO HOURS before they even pulled my car into the garage, and they knew I had a booked appointment and had to wait there. They came into the waiting room at almost hour THREE and said my car would be done soon but said the wrong make/model. I reminded them which one was my car and then he tells me it’s been done for 20 minutes and nobody told him. Said I was all set and he wasn’t gonna charge me because I waited so long. The report left in my car said it failed bc of a connection issue. I called, got left on hold, they tell me that I have an electrical issue that they don’t know how to fix and said I’d have to go to the dealership. Took it to Delta the very next day and I have no electrical issue…Every other person in the waiting room complained about being there for multiple hours, and every phone call (we could hear bc they put it on speaker) complained about Pep Boys doing something wrong with their vehicle. My genuine advice to the workers at this location: 1) Get YOUR scanner fixed, 2) Take off appointment times from the website if you cannot manage your time well enough, 3) Prioritize customers who actually schedule appointments and those who indicate that they are waiting with their car, 4) Use your words and communicate what’s wrong with someone’s car before letting them drive off. Oh and maybe we forgot which car was mine because you had me waiting there 2.5 hours!! I’m embarrassed to have recommended this place before. Needless to say I will not be going back.

I usually mark my old tire weights before getting the new tires. And after picking up my car from this plase I realized they did not touch or remove any of them. Git in the car and released they didn't even check my tires pressure that most be 35.i post the picture of that. And im driving 55mph my car shaking crazy. I went back to talk to the staff. They acting like im in wrong and giving me the attitude.

This place is a disaster. I showed up early for my appointment—figured I was doing them a favor—only for my car to sit there untouched for five hours… for an oil change. An oil change. I’ve seen molasses move faster. Honestly, I should’ve trusted my first impression. The vibe walking in was… let’s just say “not confidence-inspiring.” But I gave them the benefit of the doubt. That was my mistake. Next time you see two people in the lobby doing the méthádœne turn around and schedule somewhere else

Pep boys on eggert road in Tonawanda is a very good store. Good mechanics fair prices and you feel like you're not being taken like you are by. I feel most other mechanics in the area
