I’ve been bringing vehicles to Fehlman Brothers for about 15 years now, and for at least the last decade it’s been the only shop my family uses. I've accumulated 40–50 visits across routine maintenance, inspections, strange noises, and some genuinely difficult repair problems. What first earned my trust was that they didn’t pretend to know before they knew. Close to 15 years ago I had a vehicle with a strange sound under hard acceleration. Other shops struggled with it but eventually determined that I would need a transmission replacement — at about $3k that was a financial disaster for me at the time. I took the car to Fehlman for a second opinion and a second estimate (due diligence). They didn’t magically know the answer immediately either, but they also never pretended to. They kept working the problem carefully and eventually traced it to a loose motor mount. The repair ended up costing a fraction of what I feared. It not always the cheapest place for a particular repair, but I gradually realized that poor diagnosis and inconsistent repair work at other shops were costing me more money in the long run, not to mention the added time for return trips. Fehlman could consistently diagnose and permanently fix a problem, usually in a single day. Good auto diagnosis is hard. Modern vehicles are extremely complex systems, and from the outside it can be difficult for customers to distinguish between a careless mistake and a problem that is truly difficult to diagnose. Auto repair also requires a degree of trust because most customers cannot independently verify what a mechanic tells them. In my experience, Fehlman has always handled that responsibility with integrity. One thing I especially appreciate is that they are willing to explain what absolutely needs to be fixed, what should be fixed soon, and what can reasonably wait if money is tight. My respect for good diagnostic work has only increased, and so has my appreciation for having a shop like this to turn to when something goes wrong with a vehicle. Over the years I’ve also gotten to know Mark, Ron, and more recently Tim. Each has always been friendly, understanding, and ready to explain things at a level I can comprehend. Auto repair is never fun and nobody wants to spend money on it, but I’m genuinely grateful for the level of competence and professionalism Fehlman Brothers has provided my family when it inevitably comes up. Fehlman is the only shop in town that I’d trust with my vehicles. These guys are thorough, honest, and straightforward. They’ve done right by me for years now and have never once tried to sell me something that I didn’t need, plus they offer a triple A member discount, and will honor any of their work that falls under warranty.
