Sodus Bay Bike & Adventure Co.

We rented a lakefront home in Sodus that was very secluded (down a dirt/gravel road, amongst a wooded setting for a family get-together. I Googled for bike rentals and a few businesses came up. The most appealing and professional looking was Sodus Bay Bike & Adventure Co. We rented two Aventon Pace 4 bikes for a three-day rental. We were especially excited to ride these as we have been considering this bike for purchase. Jamie delivered the bikes shortly after we arrived even though we arrived to our destination later than expected. I texted him to tell him we were running late and he was super accommodating. Each bike came with a rear rack, mirror, lock, as well as a charger for each bike. The first time riding we rode along Lake Rd which has some fast traffic though the drivers were all courteous to the bicycles, giving plenty of room when they passed, and slowed if it wasn't safe to pass. We went to Burnap's Farm Market where we had a wonderful lunch, rode toward Sodus Point, down some of the roads off Lake Road so we could explore and enjoy the beautiful days. As it was very hot (90s) we limited the amount of riding we did and opted to sit at the lake with family. We enjoyed the multiple levels of pedal assistance and found that the ECO level was primarily sufficient to get around. As Jamie told me that racks were provided, I brought my panniers so we could carry things. Jamie came to pick the bikes up at the agreed time. We were at the lake again (over 100 steps down from the house) since we went for another ride. We needed to sign an agreement when the bikes were returned but I didn't have cell service. Jamie came down the stairs and met me part way (after several siblings yelled that he was there). I wish we had such great service in the city where we live. The level of service was off the charts, the bikes were basically brand new (we were the first rental customers), and I highly recommend renting or purchasing your bike(s) and supplies from Sodus Bay Bike & Adventure Co.

The owners’ passion for biking really shines through. I met them at a free bike clinic tonight they put on locally for the community and was blown away by their passion and knowledge of bicycling. A shop that promotes healthy living and is run by caring, knowledgeable people is a great addition to the community.

When it comes to all things bike related, Jamie won’t steer you wrong! He genuinely cares about his customers and their experience. And an eBike sounds like a great way to explore the Sodus Bay area, even for those who are not regular cyclists.

Jamie is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. It was a pleasure to work with him on my e-bike rental. Highly recommend.
