I just wanna say Mr. Mike’s Auto Repair has been where he is in Selden over 50 years. When I moved here 25 years ago I had my own places that I used and slowly but surely places go out of business. I just decided today for the first time to give Mr. Mike’s a try. My Wife who’s been living here her whole life, said he has been in business over 50 years. if you’re not good and honorable you do not last that long. So I brought my Chevy Suburban LT 2017 to him this morning with a couple of codes on it. Rather than starting to replace things that trigger a code, I wanted to bring it to him and have him check the car out and let me know what it needs. He called me after the car was there a few hours and he said he ran a smoke test and a vacuum test spent close to three hours on the car and we now know what the vehicle needs for a repair this Monday. He only charged me $120 diagnostic fee which I thought was incredible.From now on I will be using Mr. Mike’s for all my Chevy Suburban LT’s needs. I am a commercial driver. I drive people back-and-forth to airports, so it’s crucial to have a mechanic with tons of experience. Please don’t be discouraged by negative feedback of one star on here. These are people that come in and ask to have their own parts put on cars and try to take the short way out on a repair.

I will try my best to be fair, I will just tell you as it happened. I went for the oil change, I stopped car in front of the empty garage door which was opened. He came to me and told me to the move the car, and I wanted to ask him the price quickly before I moved the car because it was my first time there. In answer to my question about price: he said he has a car he is working on, and then he said which type of oil, and I told him I have the oil. And then he said he can’t do it. He told me to go to mavis. It was a strange experience, his tone wasn’t the best, he was dismissive and wasn’t welcoming at all. I just left disappointed. Maybe it he was having a bad day. But I write this for accountability. Because he had the same demeanor throughout this mini conversation we had.

The best customer experience. Mike is phenomenal and very fair. He actually knows what he's doing unlike people at Walmart and Mavis. Will go through every step by step on what needs to be done.

Very knowledgeable and down to the point. I had a handful of issues that other mechanics did not find, but Mr. Mike found and fixed them all for a very reasonable price. If you want your car taken care of, take the time and bring it here.

I have an old car that always have problems. I have been visiting mike’s shop for years. He always get the job done, very detailed. And he will tell me exactly what happened to my car and what to do after for maintains. Some may feel offended by his way of talking. I mean he doesnt have a receptionist to do the nice fancy talking for him. Mike gets all the job done himself. And whenever I didn’t take his advises. I spent more money elsewhere. I had a problem with transmission. Mike fixed the computer problem and told me if the problem comes again. The hardware has to be changed for $700-800. Two month later, I went to the 4S store and they gave me a quote of $1500 for changing the same thing.
