overpriced, undereducated, and has the worst customer service out of any garage in the area. The only reason you should ever bring your vehicle here is for an alignment and even then else where likely does a better job. All of the services you'll be price gouged for, any work besides the primary job, you'll be price gouged even heavier. I have taken my vehicle to this shop Three to four times now. Each time I have left having BASIC issues Unsolved yet they still charged for "diagnostics/time" like they actually did something. I'm not going to argue about prices on pickup. You're just not going to get my business and I'll just advise others against your poor practices. I brought my car in for an oil change. I informed them. I believe I also have a wheel bearing that was starting to go and asked them to determine which one it was. They charged me $40 for diagnostics and concluded all wheel bearings were perfectly fine. The driver side front wheel bearing got so bad I needed to replace it within 2 months of this diagnostic. For those who don't know a passenger car, used normally, Should have its wheel bearing last at least 1/2 The lifetime of the vehicle. The most basic way to determine this is basically taking a stethoscope with a stick attached to it and poking random bits of metal around the wheels. As they're spinning. You can very easily tell if a bearing is going based on the sound it produces I'm going to chalk this one up to to just shear incompetence. (Side note, they also over tightened the drain plug. Almost needed an impact to take it off the next time I tried to do an oil change) I went in for an alignment sometime later and stated I also had another very common issue. A heat shield that had become loose due to its mounting hardware rusting over time and loosening up. I know this can be fixed by purchasing a new heat shield, new components ect and doing a full repair. However, that was not what I was interested in. I simply wanted the rattle to stop so I asked if they could use steel wire to secure the obviously damaged heat shield Not a permanent solution but also doesn't need to be. Upon picking up the vehicle they said they discovered six Rusty bolts which they replaced and charged me $96 for they also then proceeded to tell me they didn't fix the rattle as it was an "engine" rattle. 1. The sheet metal that a heat shield is made of does not sound like the clanking of connecting rods and or the "rattles" an engine would make. 2. When I got home I turned the vehicle off got under the vehicle as best I could (Its low). tapped/shook the exhaust a few times and could hear the heat shield rattling exactly as I had explained So I don't know if their intentions are to try and make extra money as a scummy garage or if they're generally just that incompetent, but I will no longer be taking my vehicle to this establishment ***Update for any of those curious after some more poking around, I was able to determine the cause of the rattle. It was an oem hose clamp securing the heat shield to the exhaust that had deteriorated so badly that I was able to remove it from the vehicle with my bare hands and no tools. This has now solidified my belief that these people are completely incompetent and should not be trusted with power tools much less hand tools, how they are still in business is beyond me. Thinking back to the time that I got my oil changed. They also randomly decided to rotate my tires without asking me, did it wrong, and then charged me $40 THERE'S AN ARROW LITERALLY PRINTED IN THE RUBBER ON THE TIRE SHOWING THE DIRECTION IT'S SUPPOSED TO ROTATE. When rotating unidirectional tires on a vehicle you need to swap the front and the back or take them completely off the rim. You cannot just cross swap them as they will be backwards. Please educate yourself on your vehicle and how they operate before trusting someone that says they're a "professional". You're better off. Going to Madden's garage (saranac lake), Mc motors (paulsmiths), or maybe Monroe muffler (saranac lake)

I brought my car to Carcuzzi to have a wheel bearing repaired. The estimated price was $335 just for the part. I assumed this was standard pricing. I was also due for an oil change so I scheduled both to be done. When the work was done, I thought the total was steep but had to get my car back for work the next morning and paid over the phone. Once I received the bill, I did my research into the costs. I also had my father, who has done mechanic work for most of his life, look at the bill. We were both shocked at what I was charged. The wheel bearing sells for $195 in store at Napa and they charged me $335 for it. I called Napa myself and the representative agreed that it was a steep increase and the exact bearing that was used was not $335 in their store like I was told by Carcuzzi. On top of that, they charged me $152 to diagnose and repair the car, $112 in total for an oil change, and plus the sales tax which all totaled $647. I am fresh out of college and working two jobs, paying loans, and the rent on two apartments. It’s incredibly discouraging to have been so blatantly overcharged and taken advantage of. Carcuzzi denied these prices were unreasonable, however, I contacted multiple people and utilized my resources in the local area to confirm that these prices were crazy. Carcuzzi lost myself and friends in the area as customers.

When I took our car to the shop in Philadelphia for oil maintenance, I was told we also needed new rear shocks at a cost of hundreds of dollars. I was skeptical. When we arrived in Saranac Lake, I took the car to Carcuzzi, told them what I was told and asked them to please check the car and if I needed new rear shocks, go ahead and do it. Literally, within 15 minutes of leaving the car, I received a text telling me the car was ready. When I returned to Carcuzzi, Dave told me I did not need new rear shocks. Everything was fine. When I insisted on paying for their time, Dave told me they didn't do anything, thus no charge. One week later, I did have a problem (I could see it myself), took the car to Carcuzzi and within an hour, Bob fixed it, and more, and charged me an incredibly reasonable price. These guys deserve a lot more than five stars.

These guys were able to replace my serpentine in half the time (thus almost half the cost) a previous repair shop took to complete the repair 60,000 miles earlier. I am very happy I still have beer money this month. Will be returning for future repairs.
