6 months ago I had them put new engine in, they charged me $5500 ontop of the $3500 for the new engine . 6 months later I have a check engine light on my new engine . I let him know I was shocked that the check engine light came on, he says bring it in we will fix it . I’m thinking ok he knows what the problem is and he’s going to fix it . I pick the car up the next day I get charged $600 for him to change my oil and clean some connections that would make the check engine light go away. The very next day after picking it up I ride my car into work , I’m thinking “man $600 for what? I guess at least the check engine light is off “ and no sooner than I finish the thought the light comes back on. I call him later that day tell him the lights back on , he says “ oh it must be such and such , let me get a price on the part and I’ll call you back” , that was almost a month ago and I haven’t received any form of contact . I’m a professional in my own trade and if I did some work on something and assured my customer they were all set and then it turns out my work wasn’t complete, I would not charge the customer an enormous amount , and if I said I would get a price to them and get back to them , I would do that . Did they get my car running again? Sure . Did they do a complete job ? No. I would never go back to them. Edit: Ive included photos of my reply to the owners reply. Great honest mechanic. The worst part is they are so busy they can be challenging to get ahold of at times but they have always made room for my car if needed

Steve and Dan are tremendous mechanics and human beings, as are their sons who work for them. I rarely recommend services or businesses to people but when someone is having car trouble, I recommend S&D fervently. These guys are very sharp; they don’t miss anything. They’ll look over your car and then tell you, honestly, if there is an issue and if so, whether or not it’s critical, and then they’ll give you their opinion but ultimately leave it up to you to decide. They aren’t pushy and they never do unnecessary work. The work that they do end up doing is competently done and fairly priced. They are also just very friendly, down to earth people. I’ve never felt unwelcomed or like I was just a source of revenue. My entire family has been using them exclusively as our mechanics for over a decade now. They’ve done a lot for us, including throwing my car up on the lift to take a look and not charging me, or delivering my dad’s snow tires to our house in their truck. They are usually booked out several weeks in advance, and it’s not surprising. Once they take care of you, you’ll never want to go anywhere else. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Had two used cars I was considering buying evaluated by Joe. First one he gave a thumbs down to and the second he said was a good one. I purchased the second one two days ago. Very appreciative of his advice. I will continue to have my cars serviced by him and his staff. Very reliable and honest.
