Usually I like coming here for gas and the occasional windshield wiper fluid, so this experience was disappointing. My car was below the minimum oil level, and I did not have time to get a full oil change yet, so I bought a quart of oil to temporarily top it off myself until I could get it serviced. I have done this before, and I was not asking anyone to add the oil for me. I simply asked if the employee could help open the oil cap so I could do it myself. I literally would’ve asked a random person on the street to open it for me but I live close to East Ave Auto and figured they’d be more useful because it is a NEIGHBORHOOD AUTO SHOP. After I explained that my boyfriend had told me I just needed to top off the oil before getting it changed, the man at the desk responded, “Well then have your boyfriend do it because we aren’t allowed to for liability purposes.” I completely understand if there is a liability policy that prevents employees from helping with customers’ vehicles, but being told to “have your boyfriend do it” was unnecessary and came across as dismissive and unprofessional. A simple explanation of the policy would have been enough. Also- it’s just loosening a cap? Not even servicing the car. I went somewhere else after this that did it no problem. It was a small interaction, but honestly it put a dent in my morning.

View on GoogleMajor shout out to the guys at this auto shop for dealing with me today as I spastically sped into the parking lot with a suddenly deflating tire straight off of 490 without an appointment (or a single brain cell) rushing through barely a coherent statement with a very uncool and panicky voice. They were able to patch my tire on the spot while juggling rush hour gas pumping and ACTUAL customers/calls. They did this very inexpensively and truly made my manic Monday end well. I would go back for work there for sure and definitely recommend them now.
