Costco Tire Service Center

This is no fault of the employees but the Costco policy for tire installation is absolutely ridiculous they will not install tires if that rim size did not come factory. So your vehicle can come with a 16 or an 18-in wheel and you cannot switch to 17 even if they're already on the vehicle and the size is the equivalent which is the height of a tire and the width falls between the tire sizes of the 16 and 18. And I talked to the woman at the counter a month before ordering and she told me everything would be fine. So I would stay away from the Costco tire shop if you are not running factory size rim

We purchased and installed winter tires in October - Costco had the best price for the tires, which were very highly rated. However, several weeks later, one of our wheels came off on the highway (see pic) and resulted in thousands of dollars of damage, but fortunately no injuries. Costco is saying they are not at fault and that (their) explanation is either old lug nuts (we purchased these earlier in 2025) and/or the threaded wheel studs were worn, causing the lug nuts to fall off. Our car is a 2019 Camry. If worn wheel studs were the (actual) issue for a 2019 car, I would expect many more cars to be losing their wheels. Also, if the wheel studs were so worn as to be a problem, I would have expected them to say so at the time of installation. We are disappointment to say the least and will not return to their tire center even though the prices were excellent. Our decision to save $100 on tires cost us thousands in damages! I wish we could purchase the tires and have them installed elsewhere.

Made a 10am appt for a tire rotation, arrived at 9:50. My car wasn’t brought in until 10:45 And didn’t get finished until noon, not sure the point of even making an appt. Desk attendance since it would take 1.5 hours not 2.25. There was one guy working on a car when I arrived and the rest of the employees started coming in around 10:30. Makes no sense. The convenience of shopping while you get your “free rotation” is actually a waste of time. Not the first time I’ve had this issue.

I had a very frustrating experience at the Costco Tire Center. I had an appointment to install a new tire, but I still ended up waiting about 2.5 hours. What’s the point of having an appointment if the timing is not respected at all? It felt like my time didn’t matter. This is not the first time this has happened to me, which makes it even more disappointing.

Costco tire did a great job on two of my cars. I recently had a flat and they fixed it in short order. Looking forward to working with Costco in future.
