I should have posted this months ago. I showed up to Reds a week before one of the biggest snowstorms we've ever had inquiring about putting a basic plow on my small Toyota truck. Something they probably do not do often since most of the trucks there were clearly commercial heavy-duty equipment. Mine required special parts which they don't stock and because it needed a small plow and the truck was a brand-new model. The owner took his time to find out if it was even possible to put a plow on my truck. He told me it could be done but the parts would have to be shipped to him and he would have no control of the shipping. There was also a holiday in there too so the timing would be "tight" at best. He said that if the parts arrived, he would get it done before the storm. I had serious doubts given the number of trucks parked outside all waiting for some form of service since I'm sure everyone had waited until the last minute before deciding to get their plows serviced. I assumed most of them were also previous customers compared to me who had never been there before. Every other place I had called basically laughed at me reminding me a huge storm was a week away and they were all booked servicing their customers. I put my chances of getting a plow before the storm at around 0. I got a call late Thursday letting me know the parts had arrived. The storm was forecasted for Saturday. I figured they were going to tell me due to the late arrival of parts I'd have to wait until the following week. However, they said they would get to it when they had a chance. At that point with only a day before the storm I assumed there was no way. They called again Saturday at 10:30am to tell me the truck was ready to be picked up. Not a single flake had fallen yet. I raced down to pick it up. The owner and a few of his techs were still there waiting for me. They are normally closed by that time on Saturdays, I think. They stayed to get it done and for me to get there to pick it up. The owner took his time to explain everything and even did a test drive with me to make sure I was satisfied. When I left, they closed I was the last one there and the only reason they were. It's rare for a business to go the extra mile for someone they don't know but they said they'd get it done for me and they did. They could have simply said they didn't have time which I would have completely understood. Seeing how many vehicles they had there needing service made me think there was no way my little plow job would be completed. They made sure it was done, it worked right, and that they did exactly what they said they would do. I cant thank them enough. I think they went above and beyond for someone that had never been there before. Considering how many current customers were also there I find that to be very impressive. Thanks to the owner and the rest of the crew at Reds. I certainly appreciate all your efforts. You have gratitude and my business going forward.

I brought my truck to Red’s Garage in Port Chester, NY for a snow plow installation and I’m seriously glad I did. They were extremely easy to deal with, answered all my questions, and had my plow install finished in ONE DAY. I drove up from Long Island and also from Brooklyn/NYC because I wanted a shop that truly knows commercial equipment repair, 4x4 truck work, and plow setups—and these guys clearly do. The workmanship was clean and professional (mounting, wiring, lights, controls—everything dialed in), and the price was better than anywhere I quoted in Brooklyn, Queens, or Long Island. If you’re searching for snow plows, plow installation, plow wiring, plow repair, truck repairs, fleet maintenance, or commercial truck service, this is the place. We brought our 10 year old Subaru Forester into the Subaru Stamford dealership for a rattling noise and we were quoted 11K to repair a "mechanical failure" with the engine. Thank god we brought it to Red's for a second opinion. Joe Jr. squeezed us in to be seen right away and upon arriving did a quick check of our engine oil to discover that there was literally no oil. Can you believe this is how Subaru Stamford returned our car to us?! Especially after we paid them $700 for a synthetic oil change/tune up less than four months prior... Upon further inspection, Red's determined that aside from not having oil it in the engine was running fine. When we picked our car up - Joe Sr. took the time to show us how to check the oil and top it off ourselves. Everyone from Joe Sr., Joe Jr., to Benito at the front desk was awesome, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. We will absolutely be returning with all of our automotive needs.
View on GoogleThis is the 2nd time I've been to Red's Garage. The 1st time they replaced the lower control arm in the front for about $500, doing a custom job because I broke off the pinch bolt and drilled it crooked. The dealer quote was about TWICE that. That was over a year ago and it's still perfect. This time it was wheel bearings. I delayed the repair because I insisted they use a particular part (probably a mistake) and they didn't complain or try to talk into using their standard part. I got the car back the next day and Joe was nice enough to retrieve our car from down the street so we wouldn't have to wait in the rain. My wife commented on how silent the car was on the way home saying even the creaks are groans on any car with 90k miles seem to be gone. They even adjusted the parking brake and took a picture of broken spring BUT didn't try to talk into doing the repair with them, not 1 word and they left it up to me (turns out Subaru repairs it for free under a recall). These guys are really honest, which is rare in the auto repair industry in my opinion. There's also polite and professional. Next time I'm going to use parts THEY suggest rather than using parts I suggest. Honest, nice, competent, professional guys. Whats not to like?
