Van Bortel Ford Service

Ford issued a recall for the EcoSport I bought in 2021. I brought my car in for repair at the end of October, 2025. I picked the car up yesterday, Jan. 24. VanBortel Ford lent a car for my use for the 3 months my car was waiting for parts, then waiting for the only technician trained to fix the problem. Imagine my gratitude for the use of the loaner with my only cost being refueling! I sing my praises for the Service Department personnel and the coordination of tasks they perform. Thank you to everyone involved at VanBortel Ford!

There is supposed to be a "Quick Lane" here for common service. I arrived at about 0645 and was told that Quick Lane was already backed up and full so I would have to leave my truck for the day. Not wanting to do that, I asked for a suggestion on when best to come back. Service guy says you have to get here before we open if you want a chance. He said there were 10 cars lined up by 0630....Ugh ! So much for Quick Lane.....

I brought my 2017 F150 in for repair for the dreaded "cam phaser" problem. Long story, but I had been very disappointed with the response from Ford corporate about getting help with the problem, since the vehicle had been brought in several times (to a different Ford service center) for exactly this problem and they could not identify the problem until after my warranty and the customer satisfaction program for this defect had expired. So I was in for a $4,000 repair for something Ford had previously recognized as a defect and had been providing repair coverage for. Anyway, brought it to Van Bortel, where I had bought it, and I was pleasantly surprised. They were all very courteous, they provided a loaner vehicle at no charge, they performed the repair (during Christmas week), and they found a few discounts they could apply to save me a significant amount. Way to go Van Bortel service!!! Thank you so much. And by the way, the truck runs and sounds great again!

Took in my car for a passenger airbag recall replacement. They had the car the entire weekend, which is fine. I got it back and the contents of my organized glovebox were thrown back in along with a random dirty and partially ripped invoice from another customer. There is a cover on the side of the dashboard that was sticking out because they missed one of the holes with the clips and then mushed it down (breaking the clip) and left it. The clip is broken but I can at least get the cover to lay flat by putting it back correctly (see picture, top clip should be straight like the rest). The motivator for this review is the incessant rattling under the dashboard cover that has gotten worse with time (repair was last year) and was nonstop today. Drives me crazy on bumpy roads. I haven't been able to figure out what it is without dismantling the dashboard. Extra star for the pleasant weekend with the loaner vehicle.

Derrick was courteous, knowledgeable and helpfull through every step of my trucks repairs . I couldn't have asked for a better service advisor. Van Bortal always makes me feel like I'm part of the family.
