Usually don’t post these but these people are total con-artists. Called asking about annual state inspections, left my car. Didn’t hear back for a day. Called to check in and was told that my car needed major repairs — new brakes, new brake pads and some electrical component. Car was running fine so i was skeptical. I told the guy I wanted this in writing. He said, ok, he’d pass my inspection with just the brakes repaired and not the other thing but it’ll cost $1k… I said I’d just pick it up and go somewhere else and he told me that would cost $90 for parking. Eventually randomed my car for $30 but didn’t get inspected. DON’T GO HERE. Such a criminal operation. Update: passed inspection at another garage without issue.

These guys do state mandated inspections but will scam you into uneeded expensive repairs in order to pass. Avoid all these 1st Ave inspection stations. I was scammed into paying almost $300 for a battery at another one. Unless you are really forceful and on your game they'll confuse you into being robbed. Women especially beware. Shell on 102 and Lex is honest.

This place is why auto service shops have a bad reputation. I went for NY state inspection. They said my car would not pass due to a plug in a tire to fix a nail puncture. They also said, falsely, that the tires had bulges that fail. But they could sell me tires that would pass. They also said I needed brakes and shack absorbers. Car is 4 years old with 29,000 miles. New State DMV auto inspection regulations do not mention tire plugs. Car passed last year with tire plug. Don’t go there.

Total scam from a dishonest owner. I have had several state inspections there and they systematically try to sell you a change of brakes. NY state should send someone to take their license.

Went there because my car hit a pothole on the FDR, was advised by the tow truck that I could only bring the vehicle there. I asked him what the damages were and he advised that he would not know until Monday. Monday came, he never contacted me. I requested for the insurance to take my vehicle to another location. He then advised of $ 250.00 storage fee for the 18 hrs my car was there because I “did not give him a chance” and when the insurance instructed him to give up the vehicle he proceeded to speak in his language and acted as if he did not hear the request. Long story short he had to be threatened with the police. He is a horrible human being.
