Star Toyota Service Center

This place is a real joke. I arrived there before 6 AM even though my appointment wasn’t until 7:30. The first mechanic said he couldn’t hear the noise coming from my front end, but the second mechanic did hear it. After that, they left my car sitting there for hours. I asked the advisor handling my car why it was just sitting there, and he told me the mechanic who looked at it was working on another car. I waited even longer, and my car was still sitting there untouched. At that point, I asked to speak to a manager. After hearing my concerns, the manager told the advisor to get my car back into the garage and have the mechanic stop what he was doing to finish diagnosing my vehicle. Long story short, after wasting my entire day there, the advisor told me they still couldn’t find the problem and wanted to replace my entire front end just to “start from scratch” with all new parts. I explained to them that most of the front-end parts were already brand new and purchased directly from their own parts department. I even went out to the car and physically showed them the receipts. I didn’t leave until after 3 PM with absolutely no answers. It was a complete waste of time and by far the worst service department I’ve ever dealt with.

I visited a Toyota service center at flushing location (172nd st ) today for a routine 6-month maintenance check. My car was in perfect condition before the service, but immediately afterward, I started noticing a strange noise that had never been there before. When I brought this to the staff’s attention, they dismissed my concern and claimed everything was fine. One technician briefly drove the car and insisted there was no issue. However, when I drove it myself, the noise was clearly still present. I even requested to sit alongside the technician during a test drive so I could point out the exact problem, but they refused. Instead, they suggested running a full diagnostic at my expense unless covered by insurance—despite the issue appearing only after their service. The staff seemed inexperienced and unprofessional, and their unwillingness to properly investigate or even listen to a genuine concern was extremely frustrating. I strongly advise others to avoid this service center. This was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I had very bad experience with this location. I sent my dad’s highlander to fix since there is engine light on. At beginning they charge me over $2000 for fix it. And then few days later they call me, and told me Highlander is fixed. So I pick up the car, but not even 20miles driving, the engine light is on again. So I sent it back immediately to fix it. But they told me I have to pay another $1200 to fix the problem. I ask why, they said there is another part have to be replaced. I ask why you don’t tell me at first time, he told me, first time only find one. So I told him I have to ask my parents if they accept the price to fix, if not I will take the car out. He told me if I take the car, they will charge me diagnosis fee. Can you believe after you spending $2000 and they could not find the problem. Now they need extra money for diagnosis fee. I very doubt their professional skills, and ethic of doing business. They should not do this. I give one star because I have to give at least one to continue leave my review. If you don’t want to waste your money and time, find another location.

Be careful, there is no sign at the pay window, that they will charge a 3% surcharge on Credit Card purchases when paying at the cashier, the cashier advised me that my Advisor is supposed to notify me of this, which was not, this is a bad practice when there is nothing written while you're paying for services. On my receipt it stated that they rotated my tires, but they didn't do what was on the receipt, all they did was remove my wheel lock from the glove compartment and left it in the center comsole, its very easy to see that the wheels were never moved, the curb rash on the right side wheels, especially the front one is in the exact same spot it was before I came into service today. You can also tell by all of the brake dust that is still on the front wheels that nobody grabbed them or removed the lug nuts, look at the attached pictures.

Three months ago, I had my Toyota RAV4 (2020) serviced. First, I changed the brake shoes and rotors, and the work was fantastic. More recently, I had all four tires replaced, including mounting, balancing, and alignment. Everything went very well. I live in Woodside, NY, and I still drive to Bayside because of the excellent customer service from Mr. Andre. He is extremely helpful, and I highly recommend him as a reliable service provider.
