If I could I give 0 stars I would. Don’t park here anymore. My wife and I have been parking here for 10 years for 1 night trips in the city via the Staten Island ferry. The rate used to be 12$ for 24 hours. As of October 2024 the rate was INFLATED 8 DOLLARS to a 20$ per day rate. Meaning if you park at 10 AM and leave at 10 AM then next day you will pay 40$ for those 24 hours) because it is no longer by the hour. The manager was ignorant and rude when we asked to be refunded, especially because there was no signage that stated the change from hourly to daily rate. AVOID THIS GARAGE

Horrible cashiers that are better replaced with payment kiosks. I was in SI for the half marathon and parked in the garage. The gate was somehow open when I entered. I thought they kept it open because of the traffic flow due to the huge race. SI probably never sees this many people outside of the half marathon race weekend. After parking my car and going downstairs I realized the gates did close so I found a staff and informed him of the situation that I wasn't able to get a ticket earlier. He took down our license plate number and said he will inform the supervisor; we just need to talk to the super after race. After the race we found the staff again and he led us to someone that claims to be the weekend supervisor at the exit payment booth, who is really just one of the guys accepting payments. That guy confirmed the situation and our entry time, and told us to pay for the 3 hours we stayed. We thanked him and handed over the payment. Instead of taking the payment he turned around mumbled something for 20 seconds while my arm is extended with the payment. Then he turned around and said, "I will have to charge you for the full day at the missing ticket rate" giving me a bunch of nonsense of how I should have backed up from the open gate and go to another one to get the ticket. Clearly I was wearing race day shirt and a race medal. It was 11am and the garage only opens at 8am so I couldn't really have been there for anything more than 3 hours if he put his head to it. In those 20 seconds, I had no idea what changed his mind from "I value helping a customer solve the situation" to "I value covering my own behind and just charge him for the daily max". The staff that we informed him of the whole situation first place and led us to him was puzzled as well and shrugged and said "he's the supervisor". Though obviously one who doesn't listen and try to act by the books not acknowledging their gate was really the issue though I informed them right when it happened. Well this "weekend supervisor" is probably a regular payment processor on weekdays. Honestly if they can't reason like humans to help solve situations they are better replaced by payment kiosks. Obviously they can't process payments at the rate of kiosks. If I want to just pay the daily max I could just do so at a kiosk without wasting my time to inform him of the situation, if he doesn't want to help a customer solve it.

This public garage is the best way to visit New York City for $12 for whole day. Very secured parking place and on Saturday it’s open up to 10pm. One can take the free ferry from St. George terminal to Staten Island and enjoy NY night life to the fullest. Also there are electric car chargers available for EV cars inside this garage. Even there will be an attendant to help you for any unwanted reasons. I found it as a very economical way to go to New York quite often.

Good option for traveling into New York City without a car. I was trying to avoid all the hassle of having a car in NYC and I settled on the Staten Island ferry as it's free and quite scenic. This lot is a 5/10 minute walk away as the ferry lot was full though the walk is quite steep. Not exactly cheap but definitely affordable and quite convenient. Would recommend
