Slatch auto repair

Do not trust this shop. In my experience they were both incompetent and dishonest. I brought my Toyota 4Runner in because the brakes were sliding. After inspecting the car, they confidently told me the brake drums and rotors needed to be replaced. I explained that those parts had already been replaced less than a year earlier, but they insisted that the parts I had were bad quality and that was definitely the issue. I paid around $700 for the repair. The problem was still there afterward. When I asked about a refund, they told me that after labor costs I would barely get anything back, so there was “no point.” I later took the car to Yale Auto Repair in Woodside, where they correctly diagnosed the real issue: the ABS module needed replacement. They fixed it honestly and professionally. I also brought in my Honda Odyssey for a check engine light. This shop told me I needed a new oxygen sensor and charged me about $500. The light did go off afterward, but later I found out the part itself costs around $40. I understand businesses need to make money, and also that sometimes auto repair is a bit of a guessing game. But charging customers hundreds of dollars for incorrect diagnoses and heavily marked-up repairs is unacceptable. I left feeling ripped off and taken advantage of.

My car overheated on a weekend when I was on the road. I was nervous and called few places including Slatch Auto, Sony answered my call and was very calm to instruct me what to do before bringing my car in to his store. After he diagnosed the problems of my car, he discussed my options and the choices I have before working on my car. He is a very honest man and my car is being fixed and runs smoothly. His fees are very fair and reasonable for fixing my 10 years old car with 110,000 miles. I am very pleased of his work and his team!

I decided to try this mechanic for the first time this week and I was pleasantly surprised. I had a rear drive shaft replaced on my '08 Cayenne and Sony had it done in less than 2 hours. I tested the car on the highway and there were no vibrations or knocks. Problem solved.

Bad repair job and ended up costing more to fix the damage it caused.
