I'm honestly kind of disappointed seeing all these negative reviews. I came here to get an inspection a couple weeks ago and it went a lot smoother than anticipated. Quite frankly the best experience i ever had when it came to getting an inspection sticker on a vehicle. I drive a 1994 Honda civic that i bought off facebook marketplace last June. I took it to richmondhill auto because I live right down the street.. for a brand new windshield, fixed my damaged headlights, mounted both my front and back license plates and gave me a fresh inspection for only $550. Fast and simple.

If I could review this shop lower than 1 star I would. My first mistake was listening to my landlord who told me this shop is so great and would take care of me but thats on me more than anything. I asked for the owner Joe and informed him I was referred to this shop by my landlord who has been coming here for many years and he looked extremely annoyed with me from the very start. He proceeded to tell me he doesn’t know who I’m talking about and ask me what do I want (🚩🚩) I told him I need a state inspection and he told me to pull the car up. Full disclosure I was attempting to get my wife’s Nissan Altima inspected, a 13 year old car that was neglected for years but in the last 9 months I’ve made a large number of expensive repairs in anticipation of the dreaded state inspection. Specifically : Coils packs, Spark Plugs, PCV Valve, Almost every hose, Throttle Body, Mass Airflow Sensor, Valve Cover, Downstream 02 Sensor, CV axle, Shocks, Struts, Sway Bar Links, front wheel bearing, lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, wheel alignment, new tires. The last things that needs to be replaced is the oil pan and the car is nearly in New mechanical condition. Due to the fact that I have spent north of $2000 on all these repairs and I have other bills to pay I sought out a understanding shop that could possibly give me a break on the oil pan. Ironically he did provide me a break on that but proceeded to do the unthinkable. He failed me for peeling license plates 🙄. I understand maybe this is a new emphasis due to the uptick in ghost plates and speeding camera ticket evasion. But my plates are visible and picked up by cameras (recently tagged for a camera speeding violation) so it is not in a condition that would validate this. In 20 plus years of driving in New York and being subject to inspections I have never came across a mechanic that would start and complete an inspection without giving you a overview or warning of things that could potentially lead you to fail inspection before starting it. Typically they use pointing things out as a way to actually make more money off of you “like hey your back tire is starting to bald I can’t pass you with that but we’ll sell you a tire for $180 to help you pass” or “ you won’t pass with the tints but we’ll charge you $50 to remove the tints to help you pass”. That’s something i am very accustom to, this experience was extremely different as I do not know what his issue was. I don’t know if because I told him I was referred to him by my landlord that annoyed him, I don’t know if he was having a bad day. I don’t know if because my landlord is an older Caucasian man and I’m a young Black man he had some preconceived notion 🤷🏾‍♂️ only he knows… with all that being said I will not go back to this shop. It’s such a shame because at this point in time I am very much committed to keeping this car well maintained for my wife and the proximity of this shop to my house would make it convenient as I was told they do good work.

5 mins away from my destination for a wedding and I experienced a flat tire . Travel all the way from NJ and as soon as I arrived in queens my tire went flat :( , however I pulled into Rich Hill and the workers attended to me quickly. I am not sure of their names , maybe he was the owner but he was very prompt and efficient. Thank you for your service !

Went there for an alignment and a crooked steering wheel …… .the guy did the alignment on my truck ,and then said that the steering wheel is not crooked and is straight . And he even drove it to verify . He told me if the vehicle is still “pulling” , it needs to be brought back and they have to fix the entire suspension because of a caster issue that my truck have ,and there’s no weight in the front of my truck ,and would take a few days …. ….the next day I drove my car for 3 hours on the highway and it was pulling to the left and the steering wheel was crooked to the right …..I took my vehicle to another shop and they fixed the issue and my steering wheel is straight and not pulling anymore …:and there was no caster or suspension issue for my truck ….. Would not recommend this shop !

This is the most honest and knowledgeable auto mechanic business I have used in 65 years of driving. Joe and Chick are men whose judgments and evaluations of my vehicles over the past 25 years are reliable, and the pricing is fair. Their basic honesty and decency shines through everything they say and do. Five stars! Pastor Jeff
