I am rating this a one only because of the assistant store manager Justin who was the only helpful one in the place. Chris the manager of the store was absolutely disrespectful to me and my wife and tried to scam us for money. I brought in the car for a possible coolant leak. My father in law is a retired mechanic and he knows we have a leak somewhere in the car. Chris took the car in and didn't lift up the car for a proper and routine check. It's 4 hours later and they tell me that my battery is about to die. I asked them what did that have to do with a coolant leak. I got no answer. I ended up taking the car to AutoZone to get a battery, come to find out the battery was perfectly fine. While I was at AutoZone, I noticed my coolant had been filled but the color was blue and the car originally had pink in it. I took it back to pep boys and was furious as mixing coolant colors can cause serious engine damage. Chris said he didn't find a leak and that the battery was going to die and said my SoC was 65% even though it is a 2025 car. I told him to do the test in front of me and when the result came back the battery was perfect! (SoC - 100%). He even went on to say the alternator charged the battery which is B.S because it would be at 80 - 85%. The entire engine was filthy from coolant and my initial issue was not fixed. They tried to scam me for $450 for battery and filter changes when I only needed my coolant looked at. Chris very disrespectful to my wife who was calling about the car as well. He hung up on her twice and even walked away from us in person regarding how he left the car filthy and the issue wasn't resolved. Justin the assistant manager on the other hand, took care of the situation, flushed out the coolant and will have a proper look at the car tomorrow. Justin should be made manager because he knows how to fix situations and not make it a bigger issue. Anyone who knows about cars should know coolant colors should not be mixed. And if people go there for one issue, that issue alone should be looked at, not anything else.

I bought a set of 4 tires on eBay and pay for installation at this PepBoys store. Everything went great during my check in, until I remembered that I had a request to make. The wheel on the FL side has a dent from a pot hole I hit after the last snow storm and it had some static when driving at highway speed. So I asked to please make sure that this particular wheel be put in the back. For whatever reason the lady at the reception took this as a demand and not a request and told me with an attitude that I have to ask if it could be possible and not make demands. I just went back and sat down and waited for 2h30m to get my car. I went and check the tires and precisely the on the FL side was mounted the wrong way, the inside side was on the outside, this causes noise when you drive at highway speed and all the tires where 10 psi overinflated. At this point I just got in my car and left because I didn’t to deal with them anymore. First time there and it’s going to be my last.

Hey if you don’t know about tires and you need someone to hold your hand through the process, then look for Christopher at Bronx Pep Boys, he is very nice, knowledgeable, and informative. I’m beyond happy with the tires he recommended thank you very much, feels like my car just came off the lot 🙌🏼

Horrible experience pep boys lost a long time, loyal customer. On Monday, we place an order for 4 brand new tires and an alignment to be done on the car, when we dropped off the car at 11:30. They confirmed the order took payment on the order which was almost $1200 and was told that we will get a call or text when the car was done. We went back at 2 o’clock sign the paperwork that needed to be signed walked over to the car only to notice that nothing was done to the vehicle. It had the same tires, when we walk back into the Pep Boys The assistant manager said we should have confirmed the order and it takes 3 to 4 days for the tires to arrive. Mind you online, it said that the tires were available at this location and even gave us time to choose from to schedule it the same day. I told him when we came this morning you confirmed the order and took payment for the order. It went to the back in the back they saw the order and nobody noticed that you guys didn’t have the tires and on top of that he wanted to charge us a $10 nonrefundable fee without any work being done to the car. When I told him that was not fair, they didn’t do anything to the car. His response was it’s only $10. It’s not like it’s $100. This is coming from the assisting manager. He refunded me my $1200 and said it was OK if we didn’t come back. Pep boys lost a long time valuable customer very rude and a professional that whole staff needs to be changed or retrained.

Appointment for flat tire was at 12.. my wife told them she was waiting..she waited until 330.. said still not close so left car there.. got call at 430 pm.. she couldn't make it back.. they said np can pick up next day after 830 am.. she waited until 1030 because nobody was there to open garage.. she took bus home.. then got call at 11.. that opened up. Had to take bus back.. all this to fix a flat tire!! Never again!
