Pep Boys Auto Service & Tires

Terrible. I mean absolutely awful. Went in for my 10AM, yes, 10AM Appointment! Which I had scheduled online. For starters, I get there and have to enter through the garage entrance as the front door is locked. Meanwhile the front desk had somebody there and he did not open the door. When I do get inside, I cut through the garage and head straight for the front desk. “Good morning my names John I’m here for a 10AM appointment for a full set of tires I had shipped here” The tires were here..but apparently a location with 5 or 6 lifts has 1.. yes ONE guy capable of changing tires who would not be in until 12 noon. So I spend 2 hours, paying for parking on the street by the way, as they would not let me park in the garage, waiting for them to take my car in. I get back at 12:00 to my car in the same spot I left it. They had not even started working on it. Everyone here played dumb and acted clueless as to why my car had not even been brought in. I am writing this as my car is finally being worked on. They are predicting I will be done and on the road by 2PM. So from a 10AM initial appointment, to me now actually leaving at 2PM.. not happy. Not worth the $50 I saved by going to a more expensive shop. Still $120 install service though. All this is disregarding the fact actual waiting area is filthy (My hands are black at the moment, just from sitting at this table.) and my phone is on 12% from waiting all this time.

Amazing service. I went in for a car inspection on Friday 2/12 at around 5pm. Although I showed up pretty late in the evening, I was greeted warmly by Asif. He was welcoming, patient and completed my inspection quickly. I will definitely be back for more services!

I had to get a wheel alignment done yesterday, so I went to Pep Boys. I had made a reservation the day before, so I arrived on time. They told me to park the car outside, so I parked it, handed over the keys, and went home. However, by evening, I hadn't heard anything, so I called the store. They said they still didn't know the status of my car or the progress of the work. The next morning, I went back to the store, and they told me they hadn't even started working on my car yet. When I asked why, they said the wheel alignment machine was broken, and repairs wouldn't start until Monday (today is Saturday). I asked why I hadn't received any updates the day before, and they said they tried to call me. When I told them I never got a call, they quickly changed their story and said they were about to call me. The conclusion is that they never called to update me and just left work without telling me anything. Anyway, they told me they'd fix it on Monday, and since a snowstorm was coming, they said they would move my car to the indoor garage, so I went home thinking everything was fine. Later that evening, I was driving with my kids to go out to eat, and since our route passed by Pep Boys, I noticed that the store was closed, and my car was still parked outside (ready to be hit by the blizzard. Damn them). So, I went home, grabbed the spare key, and brought my car into my garage. Everything they say is either an excuse, a lie, or just pleasant-sounding words. Pep Boys was never like this before, but it seems like it's really gone downhill. I’ve been a regular customer here for a long time, but the new staff just talks a good game and doesn't seem to know how to work.

Very bad experience at Pep Boys. I specifically asked the worker to change the rear tires only, and instead he changed the front tires. When I pointed it out, he tried to blame me, saying the front tires were the ones I requested and that they were “correct.” I knew exactly what I asked for, and thankfully his coworker came over, checked the situation, and confirmed that I was right and that the mistake was made by the employee. No apology, no accountability — just excuses. On top of that, the wait time was extremely long for something that should have been simple, and communication was terrible the entire time. This kind of careless work and attitude is unacceptable, especially when it involves safety like tires. I will not be coming back and do not recommend this location.

Walked in with a request of inspecting my driver's side tire. A bubble was discovered not only on the driver's front but also on the passengers front side. I was able to wait & have 2 new tires installed in a reasonable time. This was a tremendous find & established a safer ride. Thanks to Andre & his staff.
