john from j & d auto is an amazing, honest, affordable mechanic. john beat pep boys on a quote by over 50 percent! he also got my van running perfect for a 3,000 mile trip with no issues. i started leaking antifreeze and needed a new flush plug, john fixed this as well. not an easy job as you have to disassemble 50 percent of the engine. pricing is incredibly competitive. call john last after you get a couple quotes. all around great mechanic, hard to find in brooklyn.

Terrible experience, avoid bringing your car here. Went to add a back-up camera, he said it'll take couple of hours, he kept my car for 4 days (Friday-Monday) without my consent; every time I went to pick it up it was closed and good luck getting a hold of him on the phone. He needs to have more consideration towards other people's time and property, and he needs to respect his business hours as advertised. Oh and the best part is - he didn't even touch the car ! Big no for me.

If you want an honest and good mechanic then look no further. Johnny is the best of the best, he took care of me like I was his family. Good prices and a cool guy. Thanks J and D !

I came here for a quick headlight fix based off the good reviews and was not disappointed! Not only did I get my headlight fixed, but John also fixed an exhaust leak and antifreeze leak he found (I am not very good with cars) and facetimed me/talked me through the entire process before doing any work on the additional issues. My car sounds better and is running better than it has in years. I usually drive all the way back to CT for vehicle maintenance, but will def be back at J&D next time my car gives me any trouble!

Not good at diagnosing or fixing electrical issues. $1500 & 3 weeks to repair a headlight on 2017 Dodge Charger Only fixed for 6 months and then broke again! "I work on this car all the time" but it still took 3 weeks. Not good communication.
