Ely Auto Repair

I have been a customer of Ely's for years. Unfortunately he had to move from his Grand Concourse location but he is still easily accessible to anyone in the South Bronx and located right off the Bruckner Expressway (the shop is on Bruckner Boulevard). Ely and his mechanics are a true do it all, know it all team. They can immediately tell you what is wrong with your car just by listening to the details of your problem. Any issue you have, Ely can order the parts and get your car fixed ASAP. Then there is Eddy, Eddy is legendary in the Bronx. The man has been a master mechanic for centuries! He doesn't try to swindle you, upsell you, anything. Any problem you have, he will literally jack up the car and show you. He will also advise you against certain things you think you should do because you heard it on the grapevine. I'll give you an example, one time I wanted to change my brake pads because I kept hearing the screeching sound (we all hate that about brakes). Eddy told me not yet as the brake pads still had a little more padding to go and it would just be a waste. I used it to the safest minimum and got it changed within 2 months. Can you imagine? I still had 2 months left of driving out of the brakes and thanks to Eddy, I was able to reduce waste and get nice pads on for the holidays! Lastly, we will talk about price. Ely will always give you the best price out of any mechanic in the South Bronx hands down! If you go to a dealer, you are only asking to waste your money. Also, Ely and Eddy stand by their work. If you have any problems post-repair, just call Ely and he will always tell you to come right back. No questions asked! Overall, I highly recommend Ely for all your mechanic needs. Stop searching for a mechanic now and head over there as soon as possible. Don't forget to look out for Eddy. You will know him when you see him. :D

Ely is incredible. It took me a year, I finally found someone who can fix my car, not over charge, remembers who I am, and possesses just a pleasant demeanor. He also educates me on how best to care for my vehicle. UPDATE: I recently went back to Ely in august 2022 - STILL AWESOME. Very grateful to him.

Ely is my new Go to mechanic, knowledgeable flexible and honest. As I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and it's starting to need work done on a regular basis.. Ely's prices are a third of my original Meineke Mechanic and a 1/4 the price of the dealership.. He gives better prices the more time you can give him to do a large job but understands the urgency of an emergency fix.. Thank you Ely!

Very unprofessional. Someone rear-ended me. Took to Ely's. They took 10 weeks to repair my car which should only have been a 2-3 week job, if that. Geico check was late so they stopped work on my car. Who does that? Finish the job, then keep my car until you get payment. So when Geico paid, I had to wait another week to get my car. Very unprofessional.
