Second time using this dealer several years years apart and another horrible experience. At least they’re consistent. I called service to make an appointment for a known issue with the thermostat. My mechanic found it in about 10 seconds while scanning the car due to the check engine light being on. He told me, since the car is under warranty, to bring it to the dealer. I called, and the woman who scheduled the appointment (who was very nice) told me to drop it off at 8:45 AM and that I would have it back the same day, the latest by closing. Sounds reasonable, right? Well... Thursday morning, I get there, and the service advisor tells me it will take 24-48 hours just to run diagnostics, most likely 48 hours. I questioned it since the issue was already identified and I was told same day turnaround. He said that was incorrect. I asked if I would at least have it by end of day Friday. His response? “Maybe, maybe Monday.” Four days? Are you kidding? So you are telling me you are keeping my car for up to four days because you need to run diagnostics for something that was already diagnosed in seconds? I need my car for the weekend, so I left. The following week I brought it to Staten Island Mazda, they did the job in 24 hours, no games, no nonsense, just fixed it, and they even washed my car! Night and day difference. If the person booking appointments is misinformed, that's on Bay Ridge Mazda, train them better. If the service department cannot be transparent or chooses not to be, that is also on them. Either way Bay Ridge Mazda is at fault here. Never using Bay Ridge Mazda again.

The folks at the Bay Ridge Mazda are SAINTS. Was bringing my 7 month old kitten back from the vet and he escaped his carrier, lodged himself inside the dashboard on top of the HVAC. Spent all night calling 911, mechanics, animal rescue, and no one could or would help us. We brought the car to Mazda and they immediately got to work. They were concerned for the kitty, and understood that this was an emergency. They opened the dash and rescued him in under and hour. We will always be loyal Bay Ridge Mazda customers after this experience ❤️🐈⬛
View on GoogleHonestly, if you truly want good service and respect, you shouldn't go there. I went last week for an oil change and some maintenance. When I got home, I found they hadn't refilled the windshield washer fluid. I contacted them, and they apologized, saying they would ask a specialist if I could come back and would call me back. That hasn't happened yet. I ended up changing it myself. The problem is the lack of respect and the way they ignore people. Also, while I was there waiting for my car, I overheard them talking disparagingly about some people, saying they had a language problem and didn't understand. So, if your English isn't excellent, don't go.
View on GoogleI arrived, handed over the car and had an oil change. While they were doing the change I sat in a very cozy lounge area where they had drinks. While I was sitting there they sent me a link about how my car is inspected and advised me to change the air filter. Convenient, no need to go anywhere, you can confirm from your phone and they will do it for you. I will 100% go back there for a checkup.
View on GoogleCalled them to ask about a warranty for a P0126 code, a common issue with the coolant control valve thermostat. The lady was extremely rude and seemed uninformed in Mazda’s procedures. Her attitude was nasty when I explained this information to her. She claimed that I would have to pay a two hundred something dollar diagnostic fee regardless of the warranty or not. I called a different Mazda shop in Queens and they explained the entire process and that the diagnostic fee would be covered by Mazda if said issue is covered by the warranty. They set me up for an appointment for next week. Try a different shop if you can. The bad reviews for Bay Ridge Mazda are valid. I would much rather travel further than work with this shop.
