Called in here to see if I could get my car inspected as I’m in a rush to renew my registration today. In hindsight, I essentially called like your typical needy customer wanting to be taken care of immediately and not wait for my car to be serviced. Well they indeed did exactly that and not only that, but I didn’t even have the chance to sit down before my car was finished after a decent conversation with the gentleman at the front desk. They got me in and out of there as promised. Really nice lobby too, coffee and snacks provided. Can’t complain. Thanks guys!

DO NOT GO HERE — CROOKS AND SCAM ARTISTS This place is an absolute scam operation. I came in for ONE headlight replacement and requested a diagnosis. At that time, there was NO check engine light and no smoke. The next morning, I get a call full of lies: suddenly I have an oil leak and magically need all four tires. I was quoted $900 for the oil leak or $2,100 if I agreed to the tires. When I refused, the mechanic resorted to straight-up scare tactics, telling me I would “crash as soon as I left the lot.” That alone should tell you everything you need to know about how they operate. Then—after work had already begun—I’m told the oil housing was “stuck” and now they have to replace the entire thing, pushing the price to $1,500. This was not a surprise repair; this was a bait-and-switch. At that point, I paid only because my car was being held hostage. When I picked up my vehicle, it was in worse and dangerous condition. Thick engine smoke was coming through the vents into the cabin, and my check engine light was on, problems that DID NOT EXIST before they touched my car. I immediately returned. Instead of fixing their own damage, they had the audacity to charge me $120 plus labor. They claimed the part was “free” because it was faulty—yet somehow I still had to pay. After paying AGAIN, I picked up my car and the exact same issue was still there—only worse. This shop is predatory, dishonest, and incompetent. They lie, inflate prices mid-repair, use fear to manipulate customers, and return vehicles in unsafe condition. They do not repair cars—they create problems to bill you for them. I will never return. I am pursuing legal action, and I will be reporting this business to consumer protection agencies. If you value your safety, your money, or your sanity, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

Both my wife and I have been talking are cars here for over a decade now and we are never disappointed. Wendy is honest, knows a lot about cars and her prices are very responsible. I would recommend Star Quality Auto to anyone.

This shop is either crooked or very incompetent. I was looking for a new mechanic for my vehicles because my old mechanic retired. I live nearby and gave Star Quality a try. I took my car in because it was leaking oil and antifreeze. Most local mechanics I've used don't charge diagnostic fees as long as you're paying them to do the repairs. Star charged me a $120 diagnostic fee. If you're charging me $120 to tell me what's wrong, you better be right about the problem. I paid $1,312 for them to replace the valve cover and coolant housing. I got the car back and the oil leak was even worse. I brought my car back. They charged me a second $120 diagnostic fee, even though I already paid it the first time and they failed to correct the problem. I paid an additional $1,907 for them to replace the oil housing. This included a lot of the same labor that was done during the first service. That would've saved me an extra $120 diagnostic fee and several hours of work if they did the job correctly the first time. The service tech even admitted that the second mechanic paid more attention than the first mechanic. I got the car home and it's still leaking oil all over my driveway. I paid them $3200+ and the problem still isn't fixed. I'm not bringing it back to pay another $120 diagnostic fee and more labor charges. It should've been fixed right the first two times. I'll be finding another mechanic for my vehicles.

I stopped by today without an appointment for a NYS inspection. The service advisor pointed out a few safety issues on my vehicle and gave me multiple options for remedying the problems. Great customer service!
