I brought my vehicle here for a tuneup and new exhaust/o²monitors about 6/7 months ago. Not a week has gone by without the engine light coming on for random multiple misfires starting the day after I picked it up (while performing drive cycles to ready the monitors for inspection). The mechanics explanation at the time, "These are known to flood". I managed to get it inspected at their Lake Carmel location in between codes though the exhaust monitor has never readied. When the engine light came on and stayed on, I brought it back for them to figure out the misfire. No work was authorized. When I didn't hear from them, I went to see if they had looked at it yet and was given a bill for a new purge valve and they had performed a smoke test. Because it was an unforseen charge, I was unable to pick it up for a week. After getting it back, when I put gas in it, it wouldn't start. When it did, it wouldn't stay running and the misfire codes were back on top of 2 new purge valve codes. Those weren't there until they changed that part. I went back, they hooked up their computer and determined it must be the gas cap and cleared the codes. Off I went to purchase a new gas cap. The next day, you guessed it, engine light was back on. Brought it back again and was told come later and he'd perform a smoke test. Yes, another one, but don't worry, I wasn't charged for this. They found a pinhole in the top of the fuel pump but was also told by Josh (front desk) that the purge canister needed to be changed now "and then we'll see". I said, and then we'll see what? I'm not dumping money into changing parts until we find the one that clears the codes. This is not parts roulette. I came to find out why the work you've done is causing more codes. Josh informed me that the computer doesn't tell them what is causing the codes and that it could be "28 things connected to that" and it wasn't their work. Of course he would say that. Now I need to go to another shop to check their work. I would not recommend JPE, as they seem to be parts changers, not mechanics. Straight forward repairs have turned into a neverending game of "It could be this or that".
