My Walmart tire center experience: To: Walmart Store Management / Corporate Customer Care From: Javier Figueroa Date: February 15, 2026 Location: Walmart Auto Care Center – Amsterdam, NY Incident Date/Time: February 14, 2026 (1:00 PM & 4:00 PM) Executive Summary I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the egregious mistreatment I experienced at the Amsterdam, NY Auto Care Center. As a loyal customer who shops at Walmart at least four times a week, I am appalled by the lack of professionalism, the failure of your scheduling system, and the verbal abuse I suffered from your staff. Incident Timeline • 1:00 PM: I arrived for my scheduled tire appointment. I was informed the appointment was canceled because only three of the four tires had arrived. An automotive associate rescheduled me for 4:00 PM that same day. • 4:00 PM: I returned for the second appointment. The associate at the register claimed she could not find my name. Despite my attempt to show her the official confirmation text on my phone, she dismissed me, stating, “That’s not my problem.” • Verbal Altercation: A second associate (described as a younger, taller male) intervened. Without provocation, he called me a "liar" to my face, claiming I had never been there earlier. As I attempted to show my proof of appointment, he walked away toward the "Employees Only" area while cursing at me. • Management Response: The female associate rolled her eyes when I requested a manager and disappeared behind the same door. I eventually spoke with an associate named Melissa (identified as a Coach), as the Store Manager was reportedly unavailable. Points of Concern 1. Unprofessional Conduct: Being called a "liar" and cursed at by an employee is a severe violation of Walmart’s core values and basic customer service standards. 2. System Inaccuracy: There is a clear disconnect between the confirmation texts sent to customers and the data visible to the floor staff. 3. Lack of Accountability: The dismissive attitude of the initial associate ("not my problem") exacerbated a simple technical error into a hostile confrontation. Requested Resolution I expect a formal follow-up regarding how this matter is being handled. I strongly believe the employees involved should be held accountable for their behavior. As a frequent shopper, I deserve to be treated with basic respect, and I hope to see immediate corrective action taken at this location

I had a terrible experience with the Walmart Auto Center in Amsterdam, NY. When I purchased and had my tires installed there, I was talked into buying the road hazard warranty, thinking it would give me peace of mind. That turned out to be a complete waste of money. Recently, I got a screw in my tire and was losing about 10 lbs of pressure per day. I tried calling for two days straight to schedule an appointment for a repair, but they never answered the phone. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay for a service that’s impossible to use. Since they refused to answer the phone, I finally had to go there in person today. After inspecting my tire, they told me the screw was too close to the sidewall, so they couldn’t repair it. Fine. But then they told me they didn’t even have a replacement tire in stock. Instead of honoring the road hazard warranty as it was explained when I purchased it, they told me I had to order a replacement tire myself at my own cost, have it shipped to the same Walmart that doesn’t answer their phone, and then they would reimburse me afterward. To make matters worse, Thomas, the coach on duty, sent me out of the store with an unsafe tire, knowing it had a screw in it and was losing pressure daily. The lack of care for customer safety is absolutely unacceptable. This is not how the road hazard warranty was sold to me. The lack of communication, poor service, and misleading warranty terms make this place a joke. If you’re considering getting your tires here, don’t bother—go somewhere that actually values their customers, honors their warranties, and answers their phones. I feel like this place does not deserve the 1 star I am forced to give them
View on GoogleThis review is in reference to having my tires rotated on 8/20/2025 at the Amsterdam Walmart auto center. This was a standard balance and rotation that was included with the purchase of these tires through walmart.com. the manager / technician informed me my truck was done but they had stripped one of the acorn style lug nuts and replaced it with a standard lug nut and apologized and told me it was free because it was their fault but it was not aesthetically correct to the rest of the lug nuts. I wasn't too happy about that and now I have to go and get a matching lug nut. The next issue was I looked at the receipt and all the tires appear to have been set at 35 PSI. I question them in regards to the pressure settings and inform them that the rear tires should have had 80 psi and the front tires should have 60 PSI. At that point the manager replied we did not change valve stems or change any air pressures we just balanced and rotated the tires. I was still in a baffled state so I said okay and left upon starting my truck my tire pressure monitoring system indicated that the rear tires were at 75 PSI and the front tires were at 55 PSI. Now I'm even more baffled, did they even rotate the tires since the rear tires were at a correct pressure as were the front. A few miles down the road my tire pressure monitoring system came on and inform me that I needed to add air to the rear tires the pressure at that time was 55 PSI And the front tires were Indicating 75 PSI. Now I'm extremely unhappy and called the auto center back to inform them that they didn't even check the tire pressures according to the label in the door jamb which is a very Elementary procedure for any mechanic. The person I spoke to was the actual mechanic that did the Service And apologized and said I could come back and they would take care of it but I was already halfway home and was not about to turn back and waste more time for them to put the correct pressures in my tires that should have been done in the first place. This is why I try to do all my mechanical work myself but obviously I don't have a tire balancer and change her and all that equipment at home and 99% of the time I stand there and watch the mechanics anytime my vehicle does have to go in to a shop, this time I did not and this is what happened so if you're shopping at Amsterdam NY Walmart, just beware and pay attention to what the mechanics are actually doing.
View on GoogleI stopped by this Walmart auto center and waited about 10 minutes before anyone even showed up. When someone finally came, they told me they were fully booked for the day — but the garage was completely empty. No cars inside, no customers waiting, and no sign of any appointments. Very disappointing and unprofessional.
View on GoogleMy uncle said it was a good idea to go to the Walmart in Amsterdam to get my oil change and although I haven't had auto care from Walmart before, I figured it was an okay idea. We get there, sit there for 30 minutes as they are repairing my vehicle. The register was down so we had to pay in another area of the store, minor inconvenience. As I'm driving back to my uncles house, I hear a tapping noise under my car. I get out to investigate, and I see that they forgot to bolt on my engine splash shield. The back is still on, but today as I am heading back home to Florida the front of my engine splash shield is still breaking off. Spoke to Sarah the manager on the phone, she said we had to come back in for a refund. Might change my review then, not happy at all.
