I paid over $7,000 to have my transmission repaired, only for it to fail again just 8 months later. When I brought the vehicle back, instead of standing behind their work, I was told I would need to pay another $5,000+ to fix the same issue again. I feel completely taken advantage of. A transmission repair at that price should last significantly longer than a few months, and any reputable mechanic should be willing to address a failure like this without demanding thousands more from the customer. The lack of accountability, customer service, and warranty support has been extremely disappointing. Because of this experience, I am now forced to pursue legal action. I would strongly caution others before trusting this shop with major repairs.

Professional local shop with excellent results and great customer service. 5/5, highly recommend. I brought in my 2001 Honda Civic LX to Star Transmissions after the auto transmission started experiencing “slipping” and torque converter shudder following an engine rebuild at another shop. Anthony and his team were very professional and helpful in working me through what was initially a very stressful situation. They spent a lot of time on the road and in the shop trying to eliminate the issues without a costly transmission rebuild. Although I had been told by AAMCO that the “slipping” issue was caused by a “1-2 slip” and would necessitate the rebuilding of my transmission, Anthony was able to diagnose and eliminate the “slipping” issue by replacing a worn engine mount for a very reasonable price. As far as the torque converter shudder, Anthony informed me that there was a good chance that it could be fixed inexpensively applying “Shudder Fix” but if not, then a replacement of the torque converter might be necessary. Whereas other shops tried to shoehorn me into a costly repair right off the bat, I appreciate Anthony doing his due diligence and trying the least expensive option first. Ultimately, the torque converter was too far gone and I ended up getting the transmission completely rebuilt for a reasonable price. On pricing, Anthony was fair, transparent and true to the quoted price, which is not always the case in my experience dealing with shops. The car now runs great, and aside from a tiny solenoid gasket leak which Anthony’s team quickly fixed free of charge under warranty, I have had no issues for 10,000 miles. A visit to the transmission shop is similar to a heart surgeon in the sense that you hope will never have to go through it, but Star Transmissions made the ordeal into a very pleasant experience. Would highly recommend.

I almost never write reviews, but Star Transmissions definitely deserves one. My car was having issues accelerating and the RPMs were very high. I took my car to another transmission shop and they told me I needed to replace the transmission and gave me a quote of $6500. I wanted to get a second opinion and my mechanic highly recommend Star. I called them and explained the situation. Anthony was very helpful and told me they would investigate the issue before jumping right to replacement of the transmission. I dropped the car off Sunday night. Monday they called me and said they found an issue with one of the sensors and a fluid leak. They replaced the sensor and replaced the transmission fluid. They kept the car overnight and tested it out Tuesday to ensure that the problem was fixed. I picked up the car and it now runs like new. I ended up paying a small fraction of what I was originally quoted by the other shop. I can’t recommend Star Transmissions enough. They were completely honest and transparent throughout the entire process. They truly try to diagnose problems instead of jumping to costly repairs. If you have a transmission issue look no further.

Just recently had work done on my car by Anthony from star transmissions. they took their time on my car, but it was absolutely warranted and all the more worth it! My car runs fantastic and better than it did before it went in for repairs. Anthony is very friendly, professional and a absolutely chill guy! I highly recommend their services and their work, five out of five stars.
