Long Point State Park on Lake Chautauqua

Absolutely gorgeous trails along beautiful Chautauqua Lake. Definitely great place to visit & have a picnic.

Great park. Great staff. (Someone tell Tony he changed my life the other day, I'm not even kidding.) My husband participates in Parks On The Air with his mobile HAM radio setup, and this was a great spot for me to tag along to on our trip to the area. Beautiful views, clean restrooms... Loved it.

Another hidden gem that's close by. Been around here for over 40 years and have never been to this spot. The beach was so quiet (we went on a Tuesday). The water is rocky and shallow, but still nice. Bring water shoes. The actual point is FANATASIC! Huge oak trees, history with the foundation of the original house from the family that donated the land, nice trails, and a shark... Worth the trip and then some.

Had a lovely picnic by the boat ramp, there are picnic tables to the right of it. Then took a stroll to the top of long point, beautiful walk on gravel path, there are benches along the way to soak in the lake views.

The beach area has declined significantly since I came here as a kid. There used to be a nice dock with stairs towards the deepest area of the buoys. They put in a little playground, but the rules include no running, which defeats the purpose of a playground. Swimming, the entire reason we trekked out here, is closed, which it would have been nice if the website had said as much. And, for what's here, the $7 per vehicle entry fee is too much. For $5, you can do Allegheny state park, which is much nicer, or if you're up for a drive, just go to Presque Isle state park in Erie, where it is free.
