BEWARE DO NOT COME TO THIS SHOP DO NOT TALK TO DAVID PART 2 Immediately had it towed to another shop explained what was happening and they went through it. They said they heard the knocking right away and immediately knew I spun a bearing. They had the heads sent out again due to the work they had seen on it just to double check, They were also off by a couple thousands. Lots of bolts were missing even on the oil pan which David had said they were going to have everything put back together. The new shop also found a lot of debris in the oil pickup which they said would be impossible to fully clean. I wish David at d and f would have noticed that or said something instead of trying to reuse it and damage the engine even more. So i had called David to ask about the quality of work done he just said he can't trust another shops word about the heads and when asked about all the missing bolts he said they put all the ones back in they took out. Well if you saw there was some missing I thought they would have told me so I could have them put new ones on it. Then asking why it took his shop 3 months to figure out the issue but when I went to the new shop I had my car back and running within 2 week. He had said well the car was towed in so it was hard to diagnose. I don't know how else you're suppose to get a car to a shop with a blown engine and what shop can't tell there's a rod knock by the sound. It is a pretty distinct sound. So to wrap this long review up I would not recommend this shop to anyone to me it seems like they can only do small jobs as longs as you know exactly what is wrong with the car. If you do go to D and F I highly recommend staying away from David he will just talk in circles about other customers cars that have nothing to do with your. I am now $3000 deep in a timing belt that is all the new shop could tell that was actually done and done right to the car.

BEWARE DO NOT COME TO THIS SHOP DO NOT TALK TO DAVID. PART 1 I had a terrible experience with this shop. At the beginning of last summer i spun a rod bearing in my 2013 Subaru wrx at the time, knowing little about engines I was recommended this shop. I had it towed there due to the engine not running. Had it towed in and then later that week was supposed to go out there and they were gunna run some tests with me there. First bad experience as I am about to drive out there i call them to make sure i was all set because I am over an hour away, was told by David they had a big delivery and couldn't get my car in the bay to look at it. No heads up and so much for my appointment. They were able to do tests on it a day or so later and told me the block passed the tests, and they were just going to send the heads out to get redone I don't know how they didn't immediately hear the rod knock but trusted them. Second bad experience didn't hear back from them for about a week, somehow they lost my phone number. After I called back to check they said the heads were a little warped and when I asked what the loud knocking sound was David told me I also had a bent valve which they were going to replace. While the heads were at the shop they were going through the rest of my car, had the timing done and David told me that my O2 sensor had been moved by the previous owner. When the heads were done and the engine reassembled, I was told everything was looked good and they were letting it run to make sure it’s good. They said after it ran for 30 minutes they would start to hear a knocking, they snaked in the bottom of the block and said it looked like there was some build up on the rod bearing and they were going to gift me a $600 flush kit they had at the shop to see if that would clear it up. The flush kit did not work they said the same thing would happen and ran awesome for 30 minutes then heard the knocking sound. At this point I haven't had my car for close to 2 months and was told an engine replacement they could have done in 2 week most because they have worked on hundreds of Subarus. So i decided to visit them to see in person what going on I could never get a straight answer from David on the phone. When I should up they took me in the back and showed me the car and the oil they just drained that had metal shavings in it. He told me it needed a new block which I kinda knew right from the start. Third bad experience while I was there I asked to see the O2 sensor they had moved after he was looking under the car and couldn't find it I pointed to the only 2 on the car and I said one of these he said no not those ones then couldn't find it and said he would have to ask the tech about it, Apparently the tech had a test piece made up that they were going to weld in so some pretty poor communication there. So after all that he told me he could most likely get one for under a thousand so I waited for confirmation and he was not able to get one then told me there was a junk yard that had one with 40K miles but the previous car had front end damage and couldn't guarantee the quality. I was done with this the shop at this time I told them never mind just put it back together I will figure it out.

I CANT say enough about this repair shop…if I could give 10 stars I would! Short story long. Passing through NY to Massachusetts (500 miles further)… stayed at local hotel. Discovered my water pump had failed, all over the parking lot the next morning. Called D&F, and pleaded my case. Dave Moch, service manager told me to bring it in. Didn’t promise anything, but wedged me in at about 10 am. After checking, told me EXACTLY what the problem was, and got the parts. I suggested some additional repairs, but after checking said that there was nothing wrong with the existing parts. 4 hours later I was back on the road. He was also able to get me a lug wrench (just in case) for my American Racing rims that was missing from my emergency repair kit. Sam Pucciarelli the other manager arrived in the afternoon and was equally accommodating! I was in a tough situation and they made me feel at home, like a trusted friend was performing the job. AMAZING!

Without going into specifics of my last few negative experiences there, I don't know what the heck happened to this place. It’s just a shadow of what it used to be up until about five years ago. Shop appears to be understaffed and chaotic resulting in miscommunication and delays with customer. If you want to be entertained with WWF style trash talk by all means go there. Not a serious place to bring your car. It now has the atmosphere and vibe of a Chop Shop south of the border.
