After having my Gravely mower repaired, I thought I was experiencing another mechanical problem when it became difficult to start. I called the shop, and they promptly came out to my property to take a look. The issue turned out to be user error on my part. A new OEM component operates differently than the original, and once they showed me the correct starting procedure, the mower worked perfectly. I appreciated that they took the time to explain it and make sure I was comfortable with the process before leaving. The owner and staff were professional, responsive, and stood behind their work. This mower is an essential tool for maintaining my property, and I am grateful for their excellent service and support. I highly recommend them.

Smooth and easy process buying my 1025H. Mike was great and kept me posted throughout the process. Even being an hour and a half away, I felt comfortable making a deal. I highly recommend!

I was going to keep this to myself but I just had a miserable time servicing my Cub Cadet Zero Turn myself this weekend after a rotten experience with this business last year. Here's the story - I had my mower serviced annually by Avon Power Equipment after buying it there when the business was under previous ownership. Last spring they came to pick it up and the company employee jumped on my mower depressed the forward and brake pedals simultaneously and when he hit the starter the unit lurched forward almost knocking him off the mower. Well it did start regardless and he drove it onto the trailer and away it went. A couple of days later the dealer called me to tell me the starter motor is broken and needs to be replaced. I thought it was a little suspicious that the starter wouldn't work following the stress test their employee administered in my driveway. I told him I thought they broke it, which they denied, and they said well if you don't want us to fix it come get your mower. I had no choice, was I going to push my mower home from Avon to Caledonia? So when I went in to pay the bill it's over $800 for the annual service plus replacement of the starter. They refused to accept any responsibility for the demise of the starter, even after I explained how their driver obviously stressed the starter by trying to start the mower in forward with the brake on. They insisted that it just wore out after 10 years. Well, the mower may have been 10 years old but it had about 110 hours on it and it takes me an hour to mow my lawn so I used the starter a total of about 110 times. You'd like to think a starter motor would work longer than that. They charged a couple of hundred dollars for the new starter and another $100 to install it, plus they slapped a $35 gas surcharge on top of the fee to pick up my mower in Caledonia - they're in East Avon , 10 miles away. (This was at last year's gas prices.) So I resigned myself to this being an expensive learning experience and vowed to service my mower myself in the future. So this past week, I spent $50 in total on a service kit (spark plugs, filters, two new blades, and oil) and took care of it myself. What a misery that turned out to be - every nut and bolt on that mower had been torqued down with an impact wrench, the blades, even the oil drain plug. Was this their final insult. Even after using a 1000 lb-ft impact wrench I couldn't get one of the blades off. I had to take the mower deck apart and replace the spindle to be able to change the blade. (A new spindle is only $30 from Amazon - I can't begin to imagine what the dealer would have charged. And the new spindle is better than OEM because it has a grease fitting - so don't give me the OEM parts argument - MTD parts are all imported from China in the first place.) To summarize, I try to buy locally and support local business whenever I can, but when I tried to come to a reasonable accommodation the owner blew me off, became defensive and made it sound like I was trying to screw him. He insisted his "best guy" picked up my mower. That's the guy who didn't know that you don't start a mower with the forward pedal pressed all the way down. So goodbye and good luck to Avon Power Equipment - you got my $800 and I'm done with you for good, and all the 5 star reviews from people who bought new mowers from them - good luck to you if you ever have a problem. Support local business - well Batavia is local too!

Big shout out and a THANK YOU to Mike @ Avon Power Equipment. I had borrowed a tiller from a friend because mine was broken. Guess what, the borrowed tiller had a problem. Needed a small part for the carb. Mike told me to come on down he had some scrap carbs in the back. As we looked through the bin we found something that would work. Mike removed the part and when I asked "How Much"? his reply was "No Charge". Most shops would have tried to sell me a new part or even a new carb, not Mike. Thanks again great customer service, shop was very clean and organized. All my future business will be going to Avon Power Equipment. Thanks again Pete

Great dealer. Mike and his team were quick and responsive. They made purchasing an LS tractor an extremely easy process. I will be recommending them to anyone in the market for one.
